Wrong thinking produces wrong emotions, wrong reactions, wrong behavior - and unhappiness! Learning to deal with your thoughts is the first step on the road to healthy thinking. How to handle one's thoughts properly is what this book is all about! It explains the life-changing method the authors call misbelief therapy, and it can work for you.
This is NOT an audio version of the book. It is a speech given by William Backus. I feel cheated as I thought it WAS the audio version of the book.
The recording is poor and Wm Backus's voice is sometimes too loud and, to me, very annoying. The content is very good but, compared with the book, very, very short. Perhaps it is a good introduction to the book.
I cannot recommend it. I think Audible should make it clear that it is NOT an audio version of the book. The quality of the recording and voice is so annoying that I could not listen again.

This is a short live presentation, NOT an audiobook as marketed. I'm assuming the book has more information not contained in this presentation. I expect an audiobook to be a reading of the book, not a shortened version of the highlights of the book. I'm disappointed.

This is a wonderful talk by Dr. Backus, but it is not the book, Telling Yourself the Truth.

This is not the full book! This is only a 1-hr lecture about the principles contained in the book. It's a good lecture, but was disappointed because I thought I was buying the full book.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
The book really helped me a lot. Was hoping to listen to the book, but this was a recorded sermon. The sermon was good. However, just not what I was expecting to hear when purchasing. I thought this would be a reading of the book... which I've been waiting for for years. If anyone knows how to get the reading of the book, please let me know.
What could William Backus and Marie Chapian have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Provide a reading of the actual book.

I have read this book. I give 5 starts to the book. I actually didn’t get to read the last chapter of this book because I forgot my copy in the airplane recently when I took it in a trip. Then I bought the audio book, hoping I would be able to listen to the last chapter. I thought it was strange the book could be read in only 56 min, however I really like the book and thought I would take a chance. By the way, this is the first book I got using Audible. This turned out to be a lecture by the author, and it was a good lecture, more like a sermon, however I have to agree that advertising this as an audiobook is misleading. You could find a lecture very similar in YouTube for free. Rating 2 stars due to the advertising as book and it’s a lecture. Great lecture, though.

Just a speech not the book. I thought I was buying the book. Not happy
This lecture was a good preview to the book, but now that I’ve spent $ on it & listened to it, I now have to purchase & read the actual book. That is not what an audiobook is supposed to be.
This is so practical in personal application that anyone with an open mind and heart can be helped. Obviously application is the key to this book.
The info is good, however this is not a reading of the book. It is conference lecture lasting only an hour. Very disappointed in how this is labeled.
