Leading by the spirit

If you could sum up Spiritual Leadership in three words, what would they be?

Wisdom personified

Who was your favorite character and why?

Holy Spirit -no competition !!!

Which scene did you most enjoy?

The heights that rich men reach and kept were not attained by sudden flight but they , while their companions slept, were toiling onward through the night

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me satisfied but wanting to read and reflect again and again

Any additional comments?

Real spiritual food , a feast .Recommend for any aspiring leader.

Solid gold!

This book will become one of my life's go-tos. The chapters on the Holy Spirit, prayer, and the constant call to lay down pride and take up servanthood is like water in the desert. God has richly blessed this work :)

One of the best I have heard

It is easy to see why this book has sold over 800,000 copies. I will be coming back and reviewing it frequently.

J. Oswald Sanders lived a LONG time ago... But it's still relevant

Spiritual Leadership by J. Oswald Sanders - Overall, it's not an "easy" listen. It was "updated" about 30 years ago, so it's work to stay engaged. Once you're past that, the content is solid - and the principles that Sanders presents are still relevant in the context of ministers and missionaries. Many of the points are helpful for a layman like me, leading in a corporate environment. Glad I listened - not sure if there's anyone that I would recommend this.

The one MAJOR problem!!!!!!!

I really enjoyed this book. The only problem I had was that NONE of the chapters were divided. There are 22 chapters in the book, but they're all divided into 4. I had to manually insert clips, and then label them according to the chapter. A little more work than I'd expected to do. But other than that, the audiobook was great!

Buy it now! Top 5 of my last 50 books read.

Spiritual Leadership is powerful, deep and densely compacted with substance. I take notes when listening and this book had me stopped every few seconds writing notes. Having read or listened to 50 books in the past six months, this is one of the top 5. Will be listening to this again, worth re-reading every year in my opinion.

There are a multitude of applications for spiritual leadership. The wisdom in this book will benefit anyone involved in ministry of any capacity. The material is also relevant to workplace leadership and behavior.

My favorite chapters are 12: The Leader and Time and 13: The Leader and Reading. The chapter on reading contains practical applications on what to read, how to read, and how to get more out of what you read.

Great principles of leadership

This book is a good resource that points to some excellent characteristics of Christian leaders. In one way it’s daunting as it just keeps on espousing the mature Christian leader does x and is diligent in y, more than encouraging and empowering with reasoning but at least it gives a good and right goal for leaders.
