Summary

No Christian need live without a keen sense of purpose, knowing God's daily presence in his life. But how do we open ourselves to the intimacy with God so evident in His friendship with Abraham? Through years of prayerful study, Henry Blackaby has uncovered powerful ways God shaped Abraham to be His friend. Using the Bible's powerful portrait of Abraham, Blackaby shows how God can make a follower a true friend, and how faith and obedience lead to a lifetime of joyous blessing. He demonstrates that God can be trusted to take us to a new place of purified character, growing love, and untold benefits.

Honest and Engaging

Created To Be God's Friend : How God Shapes Those He Loves is obviously a very personal book from Henry Blackaby. Blackaby is the author of the very popular Experiencing God: Knowing and Doing the Will of God study. He also wrote Fresh Encounter, Hearing God's Voice, Return to Worship, and Spiritual Leadership.

He uses a good mix of examples from the Bible, his own life, and the life of others to illustrate his main points. One of my favorite parts was his account of how God led him to write the Experiencing God study.

Blackaby is the closest thing I know to a modern day prophet. This audio book will help you develop a closer "friend" relationship with God as you apply its principles.
