Summary

Florida investigative reporter Whitney Steel has lived in the shadow of her legendary father long enough. To prove herself she needs to find the "big" story. She found it. Now it may kill her.

After receiving a lead pointing to the world's first cloned human, now a small child, Whitney vows to unravel the truth. However, sifting through the facts proves to have dangerous results, including death threats and murder.

When she's nearly killed, but is saved by undercover FBI Special Agent Blake Neely, he refuses to let her get in the way of his own objective - at least not right away.

Whitney and Blake are caught in a lethal game between a billionaire obsessed with genetic perfection, his hit man's thirst for retribution, and a Colombian drug lord fresh out of prison determined to make Blake pay for his twin brother's death over a decade ago.

Can they save an innocent child before it's too late?

Faced with tough choices and deadly consequences for many, Whitney soon realizes that sometimes a story becomes more than just a story.

This is one fast paced exciting story that is full

Most of you that know me and follow my blog know that I am a sucker for a book cover. Well I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one purely on the fact that the cover drew my in. Having listened to the audio of this I certainly wasn't disappointed. And I listened to this story in a matter of days while I was at work, Making my job more enjoyable that's for sure.

This is the first book in the series and with one exciting start to the story we meet Whitney Steele. Who is a Florida investigative reporter. She is out to find the BIG STORY! Whitney receives a lead pointing to the worlds first cloned human who is actually a small child. Saved by Hottie Blake who is an undercover FBI special agent after Whitney finds herself almost killed we follow them on a roller coaster Journey in this griping story.

I absolute loved their relationship and I loved the fact that there is romance along side this story. the characters are believable and the narrator is brilliant telling the story with emotion and excitement just how the story is written. Totally keeping me on my toes.

This is one fast paced exciting story that is full of mystery and excitement which I highly recommend giving it 4 stars.

Great idea for a story

I received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an unbiased review.

I really enjoyed Reflection, it had a great basis for a story and I felt that I got to know the characters really well. The book was sometimes a little 'cheesy' in parts, but all in all it was a good read and I wanted to find out what would happen to the characters.

I wasn't particularly keen on the narration, but that may have just been because she was American and sometimes I felt like the emphasis was put on the wrong words.

I am giving this audiobook a good 4 stars.

Tense, fast-paced, brilliant

What made the experience of listening to Reflection the most enjoyable?

Without the story you have nothing, interesting characters only get you so far. This has a great story. It builds tension and mixes it all up with some great characters, especially Whitney.

What other book might you compare Reflection to, and why?

I don't like giving comparisons in case you don't like the author/book that I mention. Rather lets say that this is a thriller, and that it is a good example of its genre. There is romantic tension that builds between our main characters so if your not much for that in a book then that might affect your opinion. I thought it all worked really well.

What about Rebecca Hansen’s performance did you like?

Good character narration that builds the pace of the book and also makes me want to listen for even longer.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely. It jumps out and takes hold of you.

A good start

Since I’ve read other books by Kim Cresswell and loved them, I was looking forward to this story. Although it was a good story, It was not quite as good as I expected. There wasn’t much detail about cloning, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing for us non-science people, I just like to put that in for people who might be expecting it. In all honesty, I felt the narrator brought it down. Her voice wasn’t to my liking, and I didn’t feel she gave the scenes the proper emotions. While I found the story interesting, and it’s clear this is the beginning of the Steele's story line, I might be compelled to read the rest of the series, but I can’t listen to this narrator again.

Oh dear

Any additional comments?

This book may have been successful in the 1970s, but in the 21st century it simply won't do. I thought we were done with blonde, blue eyed, leggy reporters and rugged, muscle bound men? I could only imagine her with shoulder pads in her jacket. The most interesting part of this story, human cloning, was ignored. But, if you've got that far then pat yourself on the back. How can anyone put up with this narrator's voice? Maybe it's a USA v UK thing, but it was like listening to the Chipmunks read a book. Awful, truly awful

sorry I to give up on this one

listened for an hour hoping I could get used to the narrator's voice ... I couldn't and found that because the voice irritated me so much I couldn't focus on the story .

More romance than I expected

Having read the blurb I wasn't expecting the romance to feature so much. I now see that the Amazon genre is romantic suspense and I can't argue with that. Initially I found it quite difficult to listen to the narrator and even when I had settled into listening to her accent I still found that I didn't like the voices used when the various characters spoke. I am new to audio books and the learning point for me here was that I am more comfortable reading about intimacy than I am hearing it described. I'm sure folk who are looking for a romantic suspense novel will enjoy more than I did being more of a crime reader.

I received a free copy of Reflection in return for an honest review and my thanks to Crime Book Junkie and Kim Cresswell for that.
