Ezekiel died on Earth only to be resurrected in the body of a Lich.

Well, now he’d done it. He was only playing the villain to blow off steam, now he was stuck in the body of one.

Trapped in a hostile world, Zeke must flee his former guild. The problem is, he can only flee into a holy kingdom ruled by the Church of Olattee. Out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Only his power is gone, and he must start over.

Well… Mostly anyway. He is still a lich after all and he still has his weapon, Mercy, which is more powerful than even he knows.

The real question is, is he now a villain or not? And will he survive long enough to find out?

Don't miss the next action-packed LitRPG / GameLit series by Levi Werner, the bestselling author behind World of Magic. It's perfect for fans of Sylver Seeker, Book of the Dead, and The Ritualist.

I really enjoyed the story, performance and the characters. I'm looking forward to book 2

As the first book in a new series, this obviously has to strike the correct balance between the world-building needed for the ongoing series and ensuring the opening book tells a sufficiently compelling story in it's own right and overall this one got the balance right. The framing device for this book being the main character retelling his time in the game to somebody else could have felt a little contrived if it featured more prominently, but it was used lightly enough that you could basically ignore it and just enjoy the story.

The performance of the narrator was a good one with the voices of the main character and the supporting cast all being suitably distinctive without being overdone to ensure that happened.

Overall, an entertaining listen and I will be interested to see how the story progresses in subsequent books.

Unfortunately I wasn't kept engaged in the story and kept getting distracted and having to go back a chapter or two to listen again.

It wasn't bad but wasn't good either

I enjoyed this book quite abit, really liked the companionship between the 2 lads, here's to hoping book 2 is just as interesting.

I enjoyed the book, its not a masterpiece but still decent listen. There was however one thing that killed the immersion for me and it is the way the story is told.
The books narrator is the mc from the future telling his story, and it occasionally cuts to the future. Where we meet the characters from the book, so we already know they are fine and therefore there are no stakes or suspense in the story.
That said it is a decent listen if you have a credit and nothing else you want to listen to.

Mostly good
