Skillfully spun, excellent depiction of an era
Characters true to their nature as they thread from one book to another, building details until one might recognize them on the street. At times it seemed not a mystery, not one of suspense. More a very accurate depiction of how it was at that time to be a Jew in Russia. This a mystery, the emphasis on the process of putting together small particles of information to create a solution ...rather than gaping wounds or blood on the floor.
