story was ok but way to long winded can't bring myself to bother with book 2 onwards

Long winded

I like the ideas in the story, I'm not warming to the FMC, she is so angry and aggressive even when people are being kind or trying to help. I get she had a hard start in life and she's struggling with the discovery of her magic and being put into school, but I'm struggling to like her or root for her. It seems to be overly dramatic to force the enemies to lovers narrative. But the narrators are sooo exhausting, terribly over the top and drawn out I had to speed it to 1.2 just to get through. It's a shame because I'd like to continue with the story.

Too much instant love and it felt like we didn't get much information about the characters. A weaker start to the series than Heir Academy, but I'll give the series another chance with part two.

I can’t get passed the narrators changing pitch.. its a shame because the story might be good. But I can’t get through it.

The narrator is dreadful

Literally the worse FMC ever. Actually insufferable. She’s just so angry, has no character development and so unlikeable it’s unreal. She doesn’t deserve the guys wanting her and she made me cringe and roll my eyes the entire time. I nearly DNFed so many times but I’m stubborn and had to finish just incase she grew on me and changed but unfortunately that didn’t happen.

The actual plot could have been good but just totally ruined by her. Also not a prude but the amount of swearing was just uncomfortable and was making me rage 😂 would not recommend ever, save your time and read something else.
