A diabolical traitor who's always out of reach....

England, 1814. Lady Arianna Hadley and her husband, the Earl of Saybrook, want nothing more than to savor a quiet life embellished by the occasional cup of the finest chocolate. In a laboratory in Scotland, they discover the corpse of a chemistry professor - and cryptic papers hinting at a dangerous new discovery now in enemy hands. Next book when.

Just what I expected. Another fantastic read. Just hope I do not have to wait too long for the next adventure in this series!

Good story but narration leaves something to be desired

The story is pretty good and generally I have enjoyed these books and the characters. However, I am completely perplexed by the narrator. She does most of the characters well except the main one!- Arianna. She reads both the main woman and the narrative in this breathy, whispery sing song manner. The end of a sentence lilts up. What is really disconcerting is that the main character more or less raises herself in the West Indies but has an aristocracy voice. Or if she did, she would not be all breathy and whispery. It’s odd and distracts from the book. The others characters are done fine though very odd.
