About this listen

From New York Times best-selling authors Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward comes the first book in a new sexy duet.

How to kick off a great summer in the Hamptons:

Snag a gorgeous rental on the beach. Check.

Get a job at a trendy summer haunt. Check.

How to screw up a great summer in the Hamptons:

Fall for the one guy with a dark leather jacket, scruff on his face, and intense eyes that doesn’t fit in with the rest of the tony-looking crowd. A guy you can’t have when you’ll be leaving at the end of the season.

Check. Check. Check.

I should add - especially when the guy is your sexy, tattooed god of a boss.

Especially when he not only owns your place of employment but inherited half of the town.

Especially when he’s mean to you.

Or so I thought.

Until one night when he demanded I get in his car so he could drive me home because he didn’t want me walking in the dark.

That was sort of how it all started with Rush.

And then little by little, some of the walls of this hardass man started to come down.

I never expected that the two of us, seemingly opposites from the outside, would grow so close.

I wasn't supposed to fall for the rebel heir, especially when he made it clear he didn’t want to cross the line with me.

As the temperature turned cooler, the nights became hotter. My summer became a lot more interesting - and complicated.

All good things must come to an end, right?

Except our ending was one I didn’t see coming.

Rebel Heir is the first book in the Rush Series Duet. Book Two, Rebel Heart, will release six weeks later on May, 22, 2018.

Enjoyed this book, though don’t think it matched up to the fantastic cover. Whoever created that is a genius as I bet loads of people buy the book based on that cover and the model alone.

Maxine Mitchell wasn’t the best. Don’t know why she’s used as a narrator so often as she just sounds angsty and distracts from the story. Sebastian York was good but he doesn’t have as many chapters.

Good story

I loved this story and eagerly await the second book in the set to be released.

I thoroughly enjoyed Rebel Heir. Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward make such and amazing team. Quirky humour and a great story-line are pretty much guaranteed with these two and this Rebel Heir more than developed. I really loved the passing reference to another of their books.

This story really takes off when Gia starts working at Rush’s bar. They clash and they dance around each other. The chemistry zaps off of the page, or in my case, out of the speakers.

Rush is an alpha male and can be a bit of an ass, this causes tension between he and Gia.

Gia is a sweet, but sassy character and she takes none of Rush’s crap, despite her upset at some of Rush’s behaviour.

This is an angsty, sexy, emotional romance that has it all.

Please don’t be put off by the fact that this book does end on a cliffhanger, (I know how people feel about those.) The good news is that you can immediately read/ listen to the second book in this duet so you don’t have to wait.

Rebel Heir was narrated by Maxine Mitchell, Sebastian York. They are both fantastic narrators and really do this book justice. The voices suit the characters and the acting was exceptional which really brought the story to life.

The more intimate scenes were well dealt with (I have listened to books where they are uncomfortable sounding or overdone) the sensual scenes in this book flowed along with the story and felt like a natural progression.

Angsty, emotional, great.
