Finding your happiness
Rebecca Steele Chasing a Dream is exactly as the title states. Joanne Patterson has written a poignant journey of a woman finding her happiness. Becky was married only to have her husband take off with another woman. Now at a new point in her life, she meets mechanic of the Silver Eagles, Johnny. With high emotions and sexual tension, these two find themselves highly compatible. But is their view on their relationship the same? When Becky finds herself alone again, she realizes that it's her time to find her own happiness. Twenty years go by, and Becky finds herself as an up and coming Country singing star. When she runs into her old flame Johnny, does she feel that spark? I enjoyed this journey of love, infatuation, and self realization. While at times I found Becky a little on the naive side at times, but I could easily relate to her wanting to find love and acceptance with Johnny. Johnny is the character I really disliked, he was warm and loving one minute and with no explanation left Becky hanging. I was really pleased she picked herself up and carried on. And the twist at the end, was the best of all! A real spin on her life for the better. I enjoyed her journey and found it satisfying.
Jessie B is the narrator for this story and while she has a great pace and voice, I found at times that her inflection was over exaggerated and too bubbly for parts of the story. For the most part though, she did a good job and her voices are easily distinguishable between characters.
