Summary

Andy and Bridget like to travel. Their windowless van is their home. Speeding across the Texas countryside they pick up hitchhikers and weary travelers who see the pair as a nice couple showing southern hospitality. However, Andy and Bridget are not what they seem. In their plain-looking van, there is no telling which town they will pass through or who will they pick up next.

a very surprising book

I have never read such a gory book in my life.
There was a point in the story where I had to cross my legs and wince.
If this book was ever turned into a movie I have a feeling that a lot of it would end up on the cutting room floor!

Alright, I suppose. Not really my bag.

Hmm, I debated briefly whether to post on this book or not, but I kind of thought.... well, I've read it so why wouldn't I? I suppose my concern was - does reading a book with a horrible title and some extreme graphic content, by definition make me a horrible person? Did the explicit content in the form of sexual violence and graphic torture excite, titillate or arouse me. No, it didn't. Did it disgust me? Not especially.

There is a part of me that thinks some of the content was unnecessary and could have been left to the reader's (or listener's) imagination, but the author should be free to write what he wants and if this is what Tim Miller wants to write and there is a fanbase for it, crack on then. No one has to read it if they don't want to.

I found the story or plot interesting. A couple of serial killers travel around taking advantage of people and doing horrible things to them, before crossing paths with some bigger and badder predators. I'm not usually a fan of serial killer books as they don't especially interest me. I'd rather read about a robbery or a con than a murder spree.

The writing was smooth enough. The plot moved fast. The characters were divided into predators and prey, no half measures. I was entertained, but not especially thrilled. I was invested enough in the outcome to want to finish the book and the author delivered a few twists and turns along the way. I don't regret reading it, but I'm not in a hurry to delve deeper into the author's back catalogue. It probably ought to come with some kind of warning attached to it and maybe some sort of age limitation on who could read it.

A shocker

A nice compact book. Frankly with the extreme violence, I wouldn't want to listen to a longer book. Good narrator.

Totally misleading title

There was about 1 or 2 scenes regarding the van. The story is just someone's mind barfing out "what is the dumbest thing that could happen next" scenarios. Could have been good, but nope. Pass on this one, unless you simply like meaningless violence and uninspired characters.

Pretty Grusome!

Not too much really shocks me, but this comes pretty close, especially the 10-11 year old little girl's part... so beware this is gruesome, the narration is pretty darn good

Could not get into this book

I could not get into this book and the narration was terrible. Reminds me of another terrible narrator, whose name I won't mention. but his voice sounds the same. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Sadistically Twisted!

Review
Rating
5 out of 5 Hearts

I adore Tim Miller's disturbing, twisted, and horrific writing style. His stories amaze me every time I listen to or read one, because I know he puts all he has into each one. Rape Van has it all! Extremely Horrific scenes that left my mouth agape, rewinding it just to be sure I heard correctly. Yep, I sure did.

It absolutely blows my mind what this author comes up with. Kudos to Mr. Miller for always bringing a fresh, albeit, terrifying, demented, picturesque, and graphic new story.

The narrator, Daniel Dorse, has a deep voice that just brings these characters to life. It was easy to follow the differences between the voices. I just turn the lights off, close my eyes and dive into the dark world as the story unfolds.

One of the most memorable scenes is when Maddie and Susie meet. A tender moment even for a psychopathic killer. Excellence!!

More Please?!

Childish

This book was written by a child. The dialogue is embarrassingly sophomoric. The gore is cringe-inducing, but not a fun cringe. More like when you overhear your 9 year old smack-talking strangers on call of duty. There's almost no rape whatsoever aside from the opening scene and those again, read as if written by a virgin.

Skip this one it's a complete waste of time.

agressive highschool writing

i wanted to like it but it wasn't very good i mean that's not fair some of the scenarios sucked you in and felt real but then it just started getting extremely corny and cringe but hey if hearing edgy stuff is your thing you'll like the book

Awful

I mistakenly ordered this along with another title. Such garbage. The author shares a name with a different author. Tried to return this, but, I have returned “too many”. I’ve bought hundreds of titles (nearly 450) and have been a member for years…i returned about 10 or 12. First disappointment with Audible. But this guy writes pornographic violence and there was no plot except cruel methods of torturing, Had to check one star in each category or couldn’t submit this.

Bloody Brutal

This is my first Tom Miller novel and Wow, what a shocker! It starts and ends with some very scary people doing some very savage deeds upon some random, unlucky passersby. The horror is as graphic as it is imaginative. Bleach in the eyes and "other" places. At any rate, if you like to be shocked and awed, Miller does not disappoint.

very poor writing. not that exciting.

couldn't even finish it. it was boring and very fast paced. I didn't feel for the characters at all. I'm all for shock factor and gore porn. but this was just lazy
