Summary

I never intended to pick up a naked hitchhiker wearing nothing but a guitar. A guitar. Really. I don't collect guys like that (don't ask what kind of guys I do collect), but when you spot a blond, tanned, sculpted man with a gorgeous smile and his thumb poking up and practically begging you to stop - you stop.

And I definitely never thought I'd be staring into the bright blue eyes of Trevor Connor, the lead singer for Random Acts of Crazy, an indie rock star I followed like the slobbering fileshare fangirl I am. How he came to be nude and lost 600 miles from home is quite the tale, but how we fell in love is even more unreal.

Because someone like Trevor Connor, headed to Harvard Law next year, isn't supposed to want someone like me, a rural Ohio chick majoring in boredom at Convenience Store University who is all curves and frizzy blonde hair and manners so unpolished they have sharp edges that make you bleed.

But he did.

When his best friend, Joe Ross, the bass player for Random Acts of Crazy and a man who makes Calvin Klein models look like Shrek, drove 11 hours through the night to rescue him, though, it got real complicated. It's one thing to like two different guys and be torn.

What do you do, though, when maybe - just maybe - you don't have to choose?

Random Acts of Crazy (a New York Times and USA Today best seller) is a stand-alone, full-length novel that explores issues of identity for the three main characters and doesn't shy away from mature content. Plus, Darla has a sailor's mouth.

Be warned. Be ready. But most of all - prepare to be random.

OMG LOL FUNNY!!!!

So, Sebastian York and Tad Branson are excellent narrators. I'll drop what I'm doing to switch to a SebYo narration. But Andi Arndt stole the whole show on this one. She had me laughing out loud from the opening monologue. She did benefit from having the best character, but she delivered a performance that I will listen to over and over again! This story actually had a lot to it, a good look at fly over country vs the east cost, some class clashing, naked cowboys, a purple passion place (that's not even what you're thinking), not one, but two boys, a surprise chicken, and so much funny banter. And Bonus: A Doctor Who reference! Get this book - you won't regret it. This is one that truly is a marvel to you ears.

Naked man and a well placed guitar?

Let me start by saying that Andi Arndt and Sebastian York are two of my favorite voice actors for audiobooks. Tad Branson is fairly new to be but I look forward to hearing him more. Now to the book. When a story starts off talking about a naked man on the side of the road wearing nothing but a guitar and a dog collar you know is going to be good. I laughed so much while reading this book that I just couldn't stop listening. This was highly entertaining, well worth reading, so good in fact that you never want the story to end.

Started out good

But lost its momentum by chapter 6 where I realized I was really not going to like this book. The characters seem 1 dimensional and like they’re in high school instead of 24 year olds. And the whole premise of a woman picking up a naked hitch hiker at night while she’s alone and he’s obviously high on something and she feels lucky to have a chance to grab his weenus and know she only had the chance because he’s high... noting about this character makes me want to continue on. It was somewhat funny though the first few chapters.

So much fun to listening to this story!

Julia Kent is a gifted author. She can have you laughing out loud and deep in thought in the same chapter. All of the narration is excellent.

Another favorite book on audio

I've read all of this author's books and really enjoy the Random Acts of Crazy gang. I was happy that they are finally going to be available on audio book so I can listen as I do other things around the housd. The narrators are good but it took a while to get used to the "Joe" voice. Highly recommend that you listen to these books in order as well as starting Her First Billionaire series as Josie's books run along at the same place as Darla's books.

What did I just do?

Did I really give over 8 hours of my time to this book? Ok, the first chapter had me completely tickled but then it took a really strange turn. Strange is a kind word, messed up, confusing, jumbled... Tad wasn't at his best and when Sebastian York and Andi Arndt can’t save it, there is a big problem.

Naked Random

First I must say I love these narrators, and if it wasn't for them I probably would not have been able to get through the book. While there was some laugh out loud moments the story fell a little short for me.
