Story
Srimad Bhagavatam is the most prominent of the Puranas, or histories of the Ancient World. The original Sanskrit text of the work, penned by the great sage Vyasadeva, says it is "as brilliant as the sun", because its teachings can illuminate our consciousness even in the darkest times. Much like the Arabian Nights, it has an intricate structure of stories within stories; epic tales of divine incarnations, saints, sages, gods and earthly kings that span vast periods of time.

The Mahabharata is one of the two major Sanskrit epics of ancient India. It is of immense importance to the culture of the Indian subcontinent and is a major text of Hinduism. Its discussion of human goals (artha or 'purpose', kama or 'pleasure', dharma or 'duty' and moksha or 'liberation') takes place in a long-standing tradition, attempting to explain the relationship of the individual to society and the world (the nature of the 'self') and the workings of karma.

Upanishads are mankind's oldest works of philosophy, predating the earliest Greek philosophy. They are the concluding part of the Vedas, the ancient Indian sacred literature, and mark the culmination of a tradition of speculative thought first expressed in the Rig-Veda more than 4,000 years ago. Remarkable for their meditative depth, spirit of doubt and intellectual honesty, the Upanishads are concerned with the knowledge of the Brahman, the Ultimate Reality, and man's relationship with it.

The stories in Hindu myth stem from traditions within Hinduism, drawing on stories from ancient texts, like the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. Keep in mind that because different versions of Hinduism inspire different people, many different versions of the stories float through the jungle and over the stones of temples and traditions. The stories in this volume are my version, though I’ve stuck as closely to the original myths and legends as imagination allows.

Summary
Ramayana must rank as one of the most loved and revered books of all time. A part of India's ancient Vedas, it is a beautiful story of romance and adventure. It recounts the history of Rama, said be an incarnation of the Godhead, and his divine consort Sita.
Filled with magic and mysticism, it entrances the listener and stirs deeply moving emotions. At the same time its profound spiritual messages leave one feeling uplifted and enriched. This is a novelization of the classic. It contains all the essential narrative of the original Sanskrit poem, but written in a contemporary style.
Whilst adhering closely to the original, I have used the techniques of character development and dramatization to draw the listener into the action. By weaving in other spiritual commentaries on this sacred text, I have also tried to offer the listener the benefit of the wisdom of India's seers and sages.
As I am sure you will discover when your listen to the book, that wisdom is as relevant in today's stressful world as it was thousands of years ago, when it was first written. It was my love for this wonderful book which prompted me to write my adaptation, and I hope I have been able to share that love with others.

Revolution for Righteousness - Ramayana
Krishna Dharma’s Ramayana, is enlightening entertainment with themes of ‘a hero’s journey’...and indeed a heroine’s.
Themes of love, loyalty, romance, duty, tragedy, tension, battles between forces of good and evil, friendship, deep parental affection, brotherhood and sisterhood, the equality of all living beings, and much much more, all centred securely on goodness and grace.
Why is this narration rare?
It is because outwardly, it appears to be entertainment.
But inwardly, if you allow it to, it can transform the entertainment, into the evolution of your character and consciousness. You can reach a higher and happier level of awareness and being.
The invaluable lessons and lives, of the powerful personalities mentioned, can become your daily meditation.
That part of you, who has a higher potential, can be fully realised and experienced, if you enthusiastically welcome the deeper messages of the Ramayana, into your mind, intellect and heart.
A successful person, is one who can be brave and courageous, like many characters in the Ramayana.
Inspired by their exceptional examples, we can also resolve conflicts and experience more joy, peace, love and trust, in our relationships with each other: as family, friends, colleagues at work, local communities and a global society.
And so the true benefit of hearing the Ramayana, lies in its application to our daily lives.
I know I have gained by applying it to my life already...and that is just from one hearing!
I am looking forward to hearing it again or reading the book, for the pages and repeated hearings of the Ramayana, will no doubt remain ever-fresh and new.
Krishna Dharma’s version is unique and different from other versions, as any literary work, is only as powerful as the real person behind its writing.
Having been fortunate to meet Krishna Dharma and his good wife Cintamani a few times in person, I can see their lives align with the teachings and treasures found within the Ramayana.
Thank you sincerely Krishna Dharma, with folded palms of gratitude !
