About this listen
A bad boy with something to prove. A woman with a mission. The race of their lives. The love of a lifetime.
I don’t think his parents expected him to live up to his name—Racer Tate—but once he felt the adrenaline rush behind the wheel, he was addicted.
He’s the fastest, fiercest driver around.
Scouting new talent brings me to his doorstep...but his smile sends me to my knees.
The sexy, mysterious Racer Tate is not the kind of man a girl like me falls for. He’s secretive, reckless, elusive. But his proximity pushes me beyond reason, and his kiss....
This is our last chance to win, and he is our only hope. I’m supposed to watch him—make sure he doesn’t get into trouble. But it’s an impossible task. And now the one in heart wrenching, toe-curling, soul-crushing trouble is me. Because when your heart belongs to someone, their truths become your own, and their secrets become your salvation...or your curse.
He says he wants me. He says I’m the One. But he also thinks he’ll break my heart, one piece at a time until it’s gone.
Remy and Brooke’s family is simply so lovable. I loved how, when Racer was born, they promised to raise him with love, healthy food, exercise, music and you can truly feel that throughout this book. The way their entire family supports and cares for one another is beautiful.
And Racer… what an incredible young man. He’s so much like his father, yet still completely his own person. I could genuinely feel the slow-building romance between Racer and Leina - the butterflies, the anticipation, the temptation, the way they gradually moved closer to each other. Their connection was heartfelt and captivating.
Racer has that perfect mix of confidence, sweetness, and a subtle bad-boy vibe, and it’s clear that Brooke and Remy raised him into an amazing man.
In many ways, this book felt even more reflective and thought-provoking than the previous ones, filled with memorable quotes and deeper moments. Some lines truly stayed with me, like:
“It is a wave. It passes, and then the water is calm again. And in that calm, you can see the reflection of what you have. Every wave is worth it, because one wave doesn’t affect the whole ocean.”
And another beautiful thought:
“Beauty is made of thousands tiny pieces. Some pain, some bittersweetness, some hope, some love… and in the end, all of it reminds us that life is worth living.”
Racer recognized love the same way his father did - instantly and completely and that was so special to witness.
One small downside was that sometimes the story jumped a little too quickly from one scene or location to another, making it slightly hard to keep up at times. But overall, it was a wonderful and emotional listen.
🎧 Narration
Grace Grant was great as Leina, although at times she spoke a bit too fast. When voicing Racer’s parts, his voice occasionally sounded older or strained, which felt a little unusual.
Sebastian York, however, was fantastic as always - a perfect narrator choice.
Overall, Racer was a beautiful continuation of this world, and I’m so happy I decided to listen. Highly recommended, especially for fans of Remy and Brooke’s story.
The perfect follow-up after Real, Mine and Remy

Sebastian York was fantastic (as always) and Grace Grant is ok. I can’t help but wonder if they noticed the poor quality when they narrated it too.
A huge disappointment
