Summary

A piece of paper destroyed me.

It was one day...one moment...one letter.

One lie.

That's all it took to change the course of my life.

Now he's back. And he thinks I'm the one who broke him.

Someone is lying.

And it's not me. But it's not him either.

We need to learn to trust again.

Sometimes, however, I think trust should be considered a four-letter word.

Get this sexy romance now.

Due to adult language and sexual situations, this book is intended for mature audiences.

Note to listeners: This book is a stand-alone novel. It is the first book in a series that follows three sisters. Most enjoyable listening order: Purple Orchids, White Lilies, Black Roses

Excellence

I loved the story line. I loved it so much I was actually awarded 2 marathon badges. Couldn't stop listening to this story. I loved how much Gavin embrassed Bay... his love for her was never ending, no matter the trials and tribulations, he never stopped loving her and the ending is what made it all worthwhile. There were loads of tears... laughter... shock...anger deceipt...and endless support and love.

Bay's innocence and strength was so captivating and even though she had to endure heartache and the loss of her 1 true love, she prevailed and surprised us all only to be finally rewarded with what she always wanted and deserved.

This was my first Audio and although I find reading a book more personal, I enjoyed this audio version of Purple Orchids. The only reason why I enjoy reading a book more is because I can somehow express the words differently. Samantha Chirsty has once again delivered and as usual this was a pleasure to listen too. Samantha you were truly gifted with your way of words. I am happy that you decided to have the POV of both characters. I loved that I could hear what was in each characters thoughts and how they interacted. Thank you for a great book. Can't wait for your new release.

Struggled to finish..

If endless repetitive descriptions of sexual encounters are what you like to read this is the book for you. I persevered thinking this book would improve.. But after 17 chapters focussed mainly on genitalia and erections and very little story line i was bored stupid.
i liked the narrators voice.. Generally the actual narration was very good. But very litlle story line.

Purple Orchids

Listen to Audible has allowed me to enjoy books again. Being dyslexic I struggle to read and enjoy books, as it’s takes a lot to process. Listening to this was amazing! I can’t wait to start the next one. Really really impressed 😊

WONDERFUL SECOND CHANCE ROMANCE!

This is a great second chance romance book. Gavin and Baylor were so great together. Gavin starts out as a player and turns into one of the most romantic guys that you would want as a husband. This book has hot sex scenes, misunderstanding, really sweet romance and heartbreak. The ending had me ready to throw my kindle. I couldn't believe what I thought was about to happen.

Sappy but ok

I have never been a person who enjoys the drama of two people who do not communicate well enough to keep their relationship together. So this story for me falls a little short. However, if u are a person that finds this type of story appealing then it’s definitely for u. The story is sweet and light. At least at the times that the communication drama isn’t going on. It’s a good story. Just not my cup of tea.
I thought that the readers did a pretty good job acting out the characters. The female’s depiction of the male’s accent was a little annoying as well as the sons speech problem. Other than that they did a good job.

Would've been 5 stars if not for . . .

1. The female narrator sounded so nasal and whiny that I actually went to Amazon and downloaded the Kindle version so I could read instead of listen to her part. (The male narrator was great!) And . . .
2. I don't know whether it was the female narrator (before I broke down and got the Kindle version) or the story itself, but the story started to feel like it was dragging and I kept wishing it would be over already. As soon as I got to Part 3 the story picked back up, so maybe it was the female narrator? Idk.

Overall I enjoyed the story and I'm looking forward to the next in the series.

Narrator ruined second half of the book for me

Why would you use Such a great male narrator then switch to a female narrator so VERY wrong for this role??? I have never written a negative review, and I’m sure she is great for other books, but not this one. I’m so bummed cause I was really loving this book.

Amazing Book

I absolutely loved this book so much so that I started and finished in the same day. Because of listen to so many books it's hard to say which is my favorite but this is definitely in my top 10. When I finished listening to Part 1 I was unsure how I'd manage to get through Part 2 I managed to get through it and then came Part 3. This is the best second chance book I have ever read. If there was an option of more the 5 stars it would get them. Great book and great narration!

Gavin & Baylor

*******Review contains SPOILERS********

Audible review. Dual POV. Book 1 of the Mitchell Sisters trilogy. I really enjoyed Gary Furlong's narration but Lauren Sweet's TX accent missed the mark. This second chance romance is amazing and will definitely hit you in the feels. This story plays out in 3 parts: college, current and after a car accident. There is an epilogue and if you continue to read Samantha Christy's work her characters guest star in multiple books. Trigger warnings: college romance/first love & loss of virginity; a manipulative/deceptive best friend; unknown pregnancy/child; stalker; death of a best friend; a suicide; a coma.

Gavin (20 years old) & Karen grew up together and both of their fathers want them to be together, unfortunately Gavin sees Karen as a sister not a love interest. While at college, Gavin bumps into Baylor and he seems to know she's the one and diligently pursues her. Baylor (18) is a freshman in college pursuing a degree in journalism, & dating a close family friend. Baylor allows Gavin to be her friend, she eventually breaks up with her boyfriend to date Gavin and falls for him. After Gavin & Baylor spend their entire Spring semester together, Karen breaks Gavin & Baylor up with a very detailed and deceptive plan that leads them both on very different paths.

8 years later, Gavin is married to Karen and while away on business at his hotel finds a flyer with Baylor's picture on it. Gavin & Baylor bump into each other, Gavin flips out because he believes she left him, and has to be escorted to his hotel room. The next day Gavin goes for a swim and his world is rocked when he meets his 7 year old son. One of Gavin's employees and Karen's best friend reveals Karen's lies from college. Gavin is understandably livid but realizes he's got a lot of work to do to get Baylor and his son back.

This story does have a HEA but as with all love stories there are tragedies along the way. Enjoy. JP
