Story
The King James Version was written in 1611 by order of King James I as the official translation for the Church of England. The version was created to eliminate any errors in previous translations, and to put the book into common language useful for all people. The book was translated from Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic. The version was re-edited in 1769 and has remained largely untouched for the centuries after.

Story
The Apocrypha ("hidden things") are contemporaneous with the Old Testament, but were not officially accepted as part of the Bible when the Hebrew "canon" was set. They did, however, form part of the Greek Scriptures and came into English Bibles by that route. The writings of the Apocrypha run the whole gamut of literary genres: histories, romances, devotional works, proverbs, and sermons. Many complement parts of the Old Testament, and listeners will recognize some familiar Biblical characters in the narratives, such as Daniel and Esther.

Story
“Break Through the Language Barrier, Expand Your Understanding” The Amplified Bible is a Literal Equivalent translation that, by using synonyms and definitions, both explains and expands the meaning of words in the text. This unique system of translation allows the reader to more completely and clearly grasp the meaning as it was understood in the original Hebrew and Greek languages. For example, the Greek word pisteuo, which the vast majority of versions render as “believe.” That simple translation, however, hardly does justice to the many meanings contained in the Greek pisteuo: “to adhere to, cleave to; to trust to have faith in; to rely on, to depend on.”

Difficult to Find Specific Bible Books or Chapters
The voice recording is good and clear and keeps your interest. My only and biggest gripe is that I cannot listen to a specific Book like Acts for instance. Forget even trying to be specific like Acts 3 Ch.7 as the sections of audio are listed as Part 1 to Part 26 to be downloaded. At the start of chapters I hear for instance: Chapter 7 (of which book? I don't know if I haven't listened for a while) I think it only says which book at the start of each Book. You cannot find the start of a book easily either. So defeats the object. Unless I'm doing something wrong - but I don't think so...
UPDATE: I have since seen that there is a PDF that you can download that lists the content of each 'PART' but this is still a painstaking way to find anything. Part 6 for instance lists as Joshua 1, Joshua 2, etc to Ruth 4, there are no mins/seconds listed so you would still have to fast forward and shuffle through, and even then each chapter audibly says Chapter 4, etc, not Ruth Chapter 4. So you don't know where you are.

Confusing to navigate and a mixed bag of narrators
It is difficult to recommend this audiobook for two reasons:
1) The audiobook starts with "Chapter 1" and ends with "Chapter 1189". What do those numbers mean? Well, there is an accompanying document that lists all the chapter numbers for each Book of the Bible... but it fails to link those chapter numbers to the audiobook chapter numbers! Trying to find a specific Book or chapter is almost impossible, unless you note them down while you're listening. Unfortunately, this seems to be a common issue with audiobook adaptions of the Bible.
2) Some of the narrators are good, some are excellent, and some are, quite frankly, rubbish. I recognised one from sci-fi audiobooks I've listened to and he's fine with those yet was clearly struggling with the style of writing used in the Bible. While I did mostly enjoy the mixture of voices and reading styles, why should you have to put up with the sudden drops in quality when you can buy a version that is fully narrated by the always-excellent David Suchet?
Overall, this is not a bad audiobook version of the Bible and it does have some excellently read chapters. However, it is let down by the inconsistency of the narration and the inaccessibility of the chapter list. While I can't really recommend you buy this, I would strongly recommend you search on Audible for Rene Auberjonois' reading of John, LeVar Burton's reading of Job and Theodore Bikel's reading of Psalms.

Just the word
I listened to a number of samples before settling on this audio bible. With the amount of options available it was hard to pick the right one. I picked this one because it had no background music which I found distracting. Also, it's not a dramatization, while it has a number of different narrators each one reads a different gospel. Which is a really nice touch; I didn't want the bible to sound like a radio play.
It's fairly easy to find the the chapters you are looking for if you download the PDF. If you are useing the audible app on your phone carry the PFD with you to. I've read other reviews that complain about this. There's no problem if you are prepared for it.
As to the story, I'm gonna have to say its the best one I've ever heard!

Needs to have books of the bibles labeled vs section 21 chapter 4 for example
I wish the books of the bible were titled by the names and not only the numbers. I have to try to figure out where the books begin. So instead of being able to go to ACTS, you go to something like section 8 chapter 6. And you have to click on a lot before getting to it. doing bookmarks has been hard. The voice sounds good though.

There is a Problem
The narration is great, but here is the problem: the audio books are not titled. Therefore it is a problem finding a certain Book. I bought another KJV audio book and it had the same problem. Maybe they fixed this in later releases, for I have had it for a couple of years. So why did I wait so long to write a review? I got frustrated looking for a certain Book today. I'm spite of all that I said above ... I still enjoy and recommend it.
Yours in Christ,
Alex

Worth the time and money
This presentation of the Holy Bible is worth your time to listen and the price you pay to have it read to you. Actually it is a time saver. I can do other activities while listening. Because there were three sections missing, one reader whose voice was scary to me and one reader difficult to understand at times, I cannot give the full five star rating. Overall I would recommend this selection highly but for those issues. I enjoyed. I will inform Amazon of the missing sections. They are good at resolving problems with purchases. Praise God for making available the King James Version of the Holy Bible. Thank you.

Faith comes by hearing
Would you listen to KJV Audio Bible, Pure Voice again? Why?
Yes, I wanted to improve upon my memory of the scriptures in addition to my bible reading and this audio bible has helped with my studying.
What was one of the most memorable moments of KJV Audio Bible, Pure Voice?
Its different when you're listening versus reading. While listening my imagination begins to create what I'm reading and makes the scriptures all the more memorable. I still attend services 3 times a week but this audio has enhanced my desire to KNOW and LIVE God's word.
What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The narrator brings my imagination to life.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Considering the bible is so long and incredibly detailed it's impossible to read in one sitting, its the best book known the man.
Any additional comments?
I encourage people who aren't readers of the Word because of difficulty reading to buy an audio bible. Once you have heard, you'll naturally want to read it for yourself. Faith coming by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Thanks Audio Book.
