After hiring a new vet tech, things at Sunny Days Animal Clinic are running smoothly. Well, as smoothly as they can, considering the chaos our paranormal patients cause on a weekly basis. I was relieved to finally get a day off, and when Detective Ryder asked me to walk his adorable pup Benny, I was happy to do him a favor in exchange for puppy kisses.

A visit to the new dog park seems like a wonderful way to spend the afternoon, but Benny proves he has the chops for detective work by uncovering a dead body. And it isn’t long before the poisoner proves they don’t plan to stop at just one murder.

This is a clean paranormal cozy mystery series with a side of humor, featuring a vampire veterinarian who stumbles into trouble while trying to take care of her patients... those of the normal and the supernatural variety.

loving this series, so funny and the new vet is brill. can't wait for another one

I normally hesitate because books involving vampires because they are just creepy but there was no hesitation with this book for two reason. First I enjoyed the first book and secondly and a big winner for me was her profession, I love books where animals get involved or are the focus. Okay maybe she was to busy running around solving a murder to have a lot of fun at the clinic but as Benny the hell hound puppy was involved I didn't mind to much. Also Ophelia isn't your blood sucking type. So no gross stuff here, just a humours supernatural cozy mystery with a little bit of Roman and puppy missed thrown in. The story does work as a standalone but I think you will want to know what happened to the vet tec from the first book, as his death is mentioned in this book.
The mystery was interesting despite having my suspicions confirmed and it was more the adventure of getting there than any big secret or reveal. I loved the vet clinic scenes which had me chuckling and the unique staff. It's a lot of fun with the supernatural element to it and I can't wait for the next book.

Ophelia still needs to find a help at her veterinary clinic, preferably someone that can deal with there supernatural clients. But when Detective Ryder ask her to watch his Hell hound puppy while he helps out a friend, she doesn't hesitate. She can finally check out the park she keeps recommending to clients, without looking weird well walking a hell hound might look weird if people knew what he was. The lively puppy soon gets her in trouble with the local dog trainer and when they later find her dead in the park Ophelia is reluctant to write her death off as an accident. Can Ophelia find a new staff member and a killer? And what about keeping the Hell hound and her bat from causing anymore trouble or messy? Because to be honest Ophelia is in her own mess finding the killer.
I liked the narrator. She works her own magic to bring the characters to life in this quirky cozy mystery.

That was another light cosy read, not spice but cute flirting. Growing friends and business to boot.

Another case and our vet amateur detective falls right into it. with (if i wasn't in mental burnout) lol moments.

I knew that hell hound would add cuteness and antics and yes he does.

It ended with a hint there may be more to come from this series and I do hope so.
