Summary

How to build the habits of perseverance and keep going when you want to give up to achieve your goals?

This book is for anyone who wants to develop grit. Whether you are a student who wants to do better at school, someone who wants to start a healthy lifestyle, or a professional who wishes to grow in his career or business, you will find the tips and strategies in these chapters to really help you have the grit to go for your goals.

However, I have not written this book to remind you of your glaring deficiencies. I believe you must at least have suspected that you were a little bit lacking in grit before picking up this audiobook. First, we start by trying to find out what perseverance is. Once we have found it, I will show the pillars upon which perseverance rests. Yes, perseverance has certain pillars it rests upon. Then, I will show you how you can remain determined and motivated at all times.

I do sincerely hope that at the end of this book, you will have realized the power and necessity of remaining steadfast, motivated, and unshakable in your pursuits of your goals. To achieve that though, you will need to listen to every word with total concentration and focus on applying the secrets of perseverance to your life.

Surprisingly good

An excellent program, with good advice. The terms 'grit' and 'gritty" gets a bit annoying though, be great if you could do Find and Replace All with a normal English word.

Improve your life

Having read at least a dozen self-improvement books, I have found Peak Performance to be one of the most practical. Typically, these books have two problems. They either lack evidence for their methods, or their methods are not truly applicable to life. The authors in Peak Performance provide scientific research to back all of their claims, while also giving ways you can apply their methods to daily life. This book is a worthwhile read.

Great read

The practical implications for this book are very high! I felt that it was a bit of a "how to" book however, if you take the overall messages and ideas the authors try to convey then this book can be something anyone can take something away from. The authors cover all faucets of life and really get the reader thinking of how they deal with daily situations in their own lives, as well as how to improve upon them.

Value Way Exceeds Price.

This was arguably the best book I have ever read. The author’s touches on a subject I believe is massively misunderstood and equally problematic. It took about 1 chapter before I learned enough about the inner working of stress to make permeant changes in my personal life.

Well written, a lot of studies and stories to back up their claims. Offers tips and key highlights to help drive home key points. Value way exceeds price.

Best of all, the conclusion of the book is a fanta

This is a book that someone like myself that is very science minded and used to multitasking and juggling work, training, and family life can read and walk away with new rules. But I can also hand it to my wife that wouldn't want to spend time reading technical details, and she can enjoy the book, too.

Useful advices for performance improvement

The authors included several real life examples from great performers of different fields: athletes, artists, businessman, and so on. They also try to ground their advices on scientific research. The reason I gave four stars is that I expected more scientific evidence and more detailed explanations about several concepts presented in the book. However, it is a very good book and it worths reading it.

Excellent read!

Excellent read! Uses case studies, scientific studies, and anecdotal evidence (in the form of well-written success stories) to support the advice that the book gives. Worth a look if you're looking to self-improve, find ways to beat back burn-out, or just perform at your best, with purpose.

Perfect

In the week since I have read the book I have seen my efficiency increase at work by about ten percent which is saying something because I was already efficient. My only complaint was I wish I would have stumbled upon this book about ten or fifteen years ago

There are many valuable ideas

There are many valuable ideas and insights in each chapter. My favorite feature of the book are the "performance practices" - these are callout boxes that distill key ideas into actions you can take right away to start to improve. I can wait to get started!!!

The Author Hugh Covey thoroughly explains what it takes to Win and overcome Failure. He tells us his personal struggles in life with experiences that had helped him Achieve. The examples he uses to break free from failure to produce Plentiful Good Healthy Habits are very Beneficial.

There isn't anything new here for those who follow

There isn't anything new here for those who follow successful people. If you know a few of them, you'll remember them telling you this repeatedly. If you need a refresher, this is your book.

I am a negative person who has no goals. Of course, I am not the target audience for this book. However, it is good to get out of the comfort zone and see what other people think about success.

I will never be a success, but you can be. Check out the book and see how you feel when you read it.

Inspiring audio book with actionable tips.

Narration is great and very suitable for the type of information given. No big revelations but it all makes sense. The book inspired me to start and restart some of my better habits. Listened to the whole thing in one sitting and plan on doing it with some regularity. This way I can stay on target and even reflect on my progress and refine the methods.
