Summary

No one said being a medium would be easy.

Rain Christiansen, former FBI agent and current cold case detective, is starting to think it's the hardest job he's ever had - and the most important. He's determined to accept all the changes in his formerly well-ordered life, but that means embracing a whole lot of weird. There's no instruction manual for meshing his work with his medium duties, and he's painfully aware that he's flubbing the job. So are the ghosts, who are becoming increasingly impatient. And stronger.

To complicate matters, he's not sure what these spooktacular developments mean for his relationship. It certainly seems like Daniel McKenna, his partner in work and life, is in it for the long haul. But Rain can't help but wonder how long that patience will last...and what he'll do if Danny decides the intrusive ghosts are just too much.

Rain thought accepting his supernatural gifts would be the solution to his troubles. But he's starting to realize his problems are just getting started.

Very enjoyable

I always feel disappointed after finishing a good book....a sense of emptiness Haha!
S.E. Harman is a good author....a new one for me (online I can only find her initials...no name) After reading the first of this series ....
P.S. I spook you.....narrated by Noah Michael Levine, I was pleased to find there are more in the series which follows Rain and Danny and their interactions solving cases for ghosts!! Sadly, not the same narrator but I really love Kirt Graves. He has a lovely characterful voice which is perfect for a cosy, heartwarming romance
I never give spoilers on my reviews as it seems unfair to a potential reader. It was a great read ( listen!) and I'm just about to start the next in the series so that's two so far this week

LOVE this series...but prefer original narrator.

4.25 stars for Kirt's narration, which I only liked not loved, but 5 amazing stars for the story. The change of narrator was okayed by the author, after apparently being given a choice by Tantor. I'll admit I was more than a little sceptical going in as I'd really liked Noah Michael Levine's interpretation of book 1 P.S. I Spook You...he certainly made Rain's snark come alive, and it would appear I wasn't his only fan; however, as I've loved everything I've listened to by Kirt, it was still a no-brainer to one-click on Audible.

An absolute joy to read/listen to.

Spookology is the second book in the series. It continues the story of Rain - a profiler and Danny- a detective and their navigation through a relationship that has had its ups and downs with a handful of ghosts along the way! It's very funny - the repartee between them especially. It has a great storyline that arcs over the 2 books and I hope there is a book 3 coming!

Spooktacular

Loved the book, the story, the men, and the narration. I'm looking forward to the next one.

Excellent

What a great story! I was completely immersed and invested- great pace, great characters, glorious romance and super interesting murder mystery. Star knocked off as narrator for me personally is simply too monotone but I’ll wear it for the great story

Why oh why did they change the narrator?

Wrong narrator for this book. Enjoyed Book 1 and left more than a month before embarking on Book 2 with the different narrator. Knew there would be differences in presentation but not BIG differences. So big, and so different it spoilt the story. Gone were the clever characterizations and subtle nuances replaced by a camp foolery.

Sadly this tale died on the vine.

DISAPPOINTING RETURNED

Love the story, hate the narrator

The problem here is that the narrator of the first book, PS I Spook you, Noah Michael Levine, did such a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life, their voices were wonderful and distinct. Not so Kirt Graves. Rain and Danny sounded like old men, with the same old voice, although at points Danny just sounded simple. The story is great. I loved it as a sequel, but I won’t be buying any more books with this narrator.

If you haven’t listened to the first.... well, you may be able to contain your disappointment. I’m gutted.
