Summary

Regina Beswick was born to be a princess. But she’s content to be a small-town girl, running a classic auto restoration shop, unaware a secret destiny awaits her. One that will leap from the pages of her grandmother’s hand-painted book of fairytales.

Tanner Burkhardt is the stoic Minister of Culture for the Grand Duchy of Hessenberg. When he is tasked to retrieve the long-lost princess, he must overcome his fear of failure in order to secure his nation’s future - and his own.

Yet lurking in the political shadows is a fierce opponent with sinister plans to abolish the throne forever.

Overwhelmed with opposition, Regina must decide if she’s destined to restore old cars or an ancient nation. Together - with a little divine intervention - Regina and Tanner discover the truth of her heritage and the healing power of true love.

Very Sweet!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This is a sequel to Once Upon A Prince by the same author. I very much enjoyed this story!!!

Have you listened to any of Eleni Pappageorge’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Once Upon A Prince. She is equally great in this performance!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not until the end and then I didn't want to stop!!!

Any additional comments?

Great story!! Loved the little nuances that came together in the end!!

Fun Listen

Nice continuation from the first book in the series. This one flowed a little better than the first one which, although still good seemed to drag a bit towards the end. The back story for book 2, and the flashbacks made it more interesting throughout. Overall great book.

Good but...

The first book in the series had me falling in love with Susanna from the start. She was strong in character, willing to admit her mistakes and weaknesses. However, Regina came across as a very shallow character. It was hard to find a time when she wasn’t saying more than “no” and “but I don’t want to”. There was the back story of this great mystery and she could have cared less. People needed her to step up and she literally ran. Don’t get me wrong I get that that is a very human thing to do but for most of a book?! Characters are supposed to grow and change and overcome. Not just simply reject change until they literally have it shoved on them by those around them.

Hooray

I read this as a paperback a few years ago and loved it! Rachel Hauck is my one of my favorite authors. There's humor, real characters with believable flaws and she does it all carefully interweaving inspiration

First book in series was better

A fun, light read. Liked book 1 better. A lot of the story was spent waffling on whether to follow her destiny or not. In my opinion, she could have decided quicker. Looking forward to book 3.

It brought me to tears

This is book # 2 of the Ever After series! sweeter than a secular tale it is fantastic not only to hear a story about royalty but to a hear a strong story about the building and keeping of a relationship ! The people and kingdom were so artistically written. I would love to move there !
