I have no idea how to review this book..
I have so so so many emotions right now,I want to cry ,I want to scream,and I cannot believe what just happened at the end there...What The Hell Noooooo..!! I am so sad right now..
I cannot believe this Is Rhea Ryan's debut novel because this is such an AMAZING story and so well written and structured,it is so difficult to write anything without spoiling the whole story.
London King is running from her past,and runs straight back to the town she escaped from when she was 10 years old.
But London is not welcome and she is faced with school bullies and contempt,alot has happened in this small town since she left,including the death of a girl.
Surrounding the girls death is the involvement of twins Mason and Mika,hockey players,rich and with the popular crowd.London catches their eyes.
London joins the school newspaper and she is assigned to write a story on the Hockey team going to Alaska..But is coerced into writing a piece to find out what happened to the dead girl Olivia and the twins involvement.
So she goes with the Hockey team and the news group to go to Alaska with them to do the story and the extra project assigned to her by Nigel the boss of the newspaper.
But the plane crashes and they are now stranded on an Island and it is now upto the remaining survivors to stay alive on the Island.
But with so much animosity between certain people chaos ensues.
I cannot say too much about this story because it will ruin it for those who I hope decide to read or listen to this book.
But there is so much mystery and intrigue ,conflict,rage,hunger,attraction London is thrust into an ongoing grievance,resentment and bitterness between certain classmates.
This story is outstanding but honestly I did not know who to trust or who I should be rooting for,I didn't know where my loyalties should lie...Because everyone is suspicious and it seems the ghost of Olivia's death is hanging over them.
They turn against eachother and it is savage and brutal and it was sometimes( for me) uncomfortable to listen to.
Rhea Ryan had me guessing right until the end of what the true story was,who killed Olivia was it Mason,was it Mika or somebody else?
This book is dark,steamy,emotional and a psychological mind f*ck sorry for the swearing but I had no other word to describe it...I was stressed,anxious and emotionally worn out.
It makes you think about what would happen if you were stranded on an island with no rules,no authority,no food and some of the people with you hate you with a vengeance.
These young women and men become crazed,primal and lose their humanity.
I was so glad I got to listen to the audiobook of Pretty Little Island the Narration by Scarlet Love was excellent..I thought she did a wonderful job at portraying all the characters in this book and I really enjoyed her performance.
This book is so captivating I was hooked from the start,it is a MUST read/listen for me and I highly recommend it to everyone who loves a psychological romance.
Now I need to go and cry in the corner..lol..while I prepare myself to listen to book 2.
Rhea Ryan has gained a new fan.
PHENOMENAL !

Rhea, you did not disappoint with this book, I am also so excited that book two is about Olivia.
I loved the adventure, the drama, the love, the twist and turns! But you ruined me with that ending.

I loved how this turned out, single narration doesn’t always do well. But I feel like this worked, I was able to shut off and just go with the flow. Scarlet did a great job, she delivered and I throughly enjoyed the story.

Having read this before, I knew going in how it was going to go, but scarlet managed to still shock me, and excite me, it was tense, and angsty, spicy in all the right places. I was blushing for sureeeee.

Honestly I normally avoid a single person narration. I can’t stand woman playing fake men’s voices and vice versa but I had to listen to PLI as it’s easily a favourite and I admit that Scarlet done an amazing job here. She really brought London to life and the chills I got from reading this story was amplified times 100 by being able to listen to it. Pick it up now and you will binge it as quickly as I did ❤️

I enjoyed this one and it’s an interesting story. I'm intrigued to see where the rest of this story goes, I have some crazy hopes for a possible twist and it will be interesting to see if that does happen and if so, how the author does it. The characters are interesting, they have a weird but understandable dynamic that works well for them and it was interesting to watch them explore it and the emotional rollercoaster that they go through. It’s twisty and tense, and you are hooked from the get go with Gossip Girl vibes that become darker as the story goes on and the tension builds. It was the perfect amount of spice for the characters and their story, I think if there was any more than it would have overwhelmed the story and overshadowed the plot. After the rollercoaster of the book, that ending leaves you tense and eager for more.
