Exciting adventure

Even better and more exciting than the first one!! This only makes me more excited to listen to the 3rd and 4th books, although will be surprised if they beat this book.

Traction cities move on!

I read the book with my son a few years ago . Revisiting it through Audible has been great fun, and Barnaby Edwards’ narration is first rate. The characterisations are first rate, the plot draws you in, and I was completely emersed in the world of traction cities. Can’t wait to get started on ‘Infernal Devices’

Nice follow up to book 1

Good read, Love how Hetty's character develops. Couple of good plot twists too. Couple of giggles at the names of towns or people.

An Inventive continuation to the saga.

Far more descriptive than the first book but takes a little while to get going.
Explained through the story some of the dynamics of traction vs non traction.
Very enjoyable.

the middle was disappointing

the beginning was good, the ending was good, the middle was insufferable. I only finished it because the first book was Mortal engines. Without giving too much away, I struggled through that cliche big misunderstanding Trope where all the characters have an unneeded conflict and then have to go and mope and do things that are completely out of their character. if you can get through that, it's almost worth it for the end.

A great continuation of the story

The second book in the Mortal Engines series did very well at capturing the reader’s attention quickly while staying true to the original book. It did have a couple of predictable plot points but that can be very easily overlooked in the overarching scheme of maneuver.

The voice actor is superb. You quickly associate the character with the voice he uses without needing to hear who it is that is talking. He truly brings this good work to life and makes it great. I highly recommend this book as well as the first book.

Really enjoyable series so far

I've enjoyed the first 2 books of the series, but I believe the first had better world building, where the 2nd book seemed to expand on the characters a bit more.

Wonderful world

This author really has created a new world in which I have emerged myself in. Not only is the story believable but it gives me goose bumps.
