John Lee is, as always, a perfect fit for this genre. His narration is consistent, well-paced, and lends a solid tone to the series. While this entry once again shifts away from starship battles and toward more terrestrial conflict, the story continues to build an interesting universe with mysteries to uncover and challenges to overcome. I missed the naval elements, but the book still delivered an enjoyable experience. Looking forward to what’s next.

I liked how he showed the greyness of what Eric is doing how not everyone on homeworld agrees with his approach. Also I get a hint of Eric drifting towards Authorianism which I think could be setting up a fantastic ending to the series.
