About this listen

She thought her prayers had been answered. Now she’s praying for time.

Vanessa Everly is a successful actress in Los Angeles, but she’s still traumatized by the night that ripped her world apart. Eight years ago, Vanessa and her younger sister Roxanne were attacked on the beach in their hometown in Oregon - and Roxanne was kidnapped. Devastated, Vanessa ended her relationship with handsome medical student Christian Montgomery, whose troubled brother Brody was the police’s prime suspect.

Now, Vanessa receives the news she never thought she’d hear: Roxanne is alive. Arriving back in Everly Cliffs, Vanessa is reunited with her sister - and with Christian. Roxanne can’t remember what happened that night, but someone else can.... Who’s making threatening phone calls to Vanessa, and why has Brody suddenly gone missing?

Vanessa’s torment should be over, but it’s about to get much darker....

The story has potential but I feel it is insufficiently edited. Superficial writing and at times, naive, depthless, unlikely character conduct. Just an example: At a point the main character instructs another one to refrain from letting the parent of a little girl know that she was abducted by a killer and her life is in danger, to avoid spoling the evening.

Could of been interesting but

narrator was good, the story was interesting until the last few chapters, it became boring when the author decided to explain every detail of when, how and where, no need at all. won't be reading any more of her books.

Disappointing 😞

Started off really well and could have been an excellent story
Suddenly and casually dead bodies everywhere and they kept mounting up
I found myself laughing at the absurdity of it
A shame as the beginning was really good and it had great potential

Fanciful

Narrator is excellent and the story is great keeping you addicted to carry on with the tale. I recommend this one, you will not be disappointed.

Brilliant

I thought this book was going to be fab but oh dear it wasn’t. The plot initially had promise but the horrors of a kidnap were minimised and some of the characters dialogue so drawn out and pointless. Then as the end approached the plot galloped along with everyone admitting to everything. A bit like a theatre farce. It’s a no from me.

Hmm not very good I pray
