Practical Shooting, Beyond Fundamentals

- Length: 7 hrs and 34 mins

Summary
Brian Enos' Practical Shooting, Beyond Fundamentals - often considered the competitive shooter's bible - includes in-depth coverage of the technical and mental aspects of training and competition, and will offer new insights as you continue to improve.
This isn't just another "how to fire a gun" book. This one talks about shooting....
The keys to consistent, high-speed shooting are within you right now. This book will show you ways to bring them out. Through Brian's advice, you'll learn how to recognize and break down the barriers that are limiting your performance - you may begin to look at shooting in an entirely different way. You'll learn to pressure-proof your match performance, how different types of shooting require different focal points, and you'll see how to develop an attitude that will let you reach beyond what you thought was your potential.
You'll find a comprehensive set of exercises that will develop and sharpen your skills. You'll see how it's possible to drive the gun to wherever your eye can look. You'll discover that everything you need to know about your technique is told by the gun, if you know how to listen to it. And all the challenges and advanced techniques of practical shooting are covered, too: prone, barricade, single-hand shooting, multiple targets, reloading, shooting on the move, and much more. You'll also get inside tips on IPSC strategies, steel shooting, shoot-off tactics, Bianchi, and more.

Useful for any shooting discipline
As a competitive clay shooter I was recommended this book as one of the few shooting competition psychology books out there. Much of the book covers pistol technique but a huge amount addressed mental skills that are entirely transferable. Great ‘read’ and will revisit.

Good information.
I really liked this book. Full of information and gets you thinking and analyzing your own shooting needs. Will probably buy a paper copy and reread some sections because I had a little trouble comprehending some of the technical information presented. I'm sure rereading the book will give even more insight. There is so much information in this book, I don't think anyone would be able to soak it all in in one pass.

Zen master
This book is the ultimate zen for practical shooters. And every person that shoots IPSC or USPSA must read this book. It should not even be negotiable.

Mindset for Shooting
If you carry a gun as an essential skill of your livelihood, ( As I do) , and you understand that your state of mind is key to reaching that level of performance you hope, and train to achieve, this is your book. If you are a trainer of the art and skill of shooting ( As I am) you will quickly understand the value of this book. Anyone who understands the necessity of the mind in all physical endeavors, and to triumph in violent encounters will in short see the wisdom of this volume.

So Zen-Like. Awesome Writing.
I will have to listen over and over to truly get the most out of this book. I started competitive shooting in the 1990s and always heard people talk about how great this book is. It is awesome. The narrator's monotone gives it such a Zen like feel. I think it was an excellent reading. Though, I have to admit I could not listen to it straight. Could only take an hour or two at a time. But I will listen over and over to get more out of it.

Good information
Good information but a VERY boring listen. Dunno couldn’t get into it that much. It definitely throws a lot of good info at you and you have to try to retain it all. I recommend this book if you are already a competitive shooter.

Disappointed
I didn't get a whole lot out of this book. Some basic tips and mental attitude is pretty much it. I got way more out of "How to shoot like a Navy Seal" ... and I'm only partially into that book. I've only returned a few books from Audible and I was close to it for this one,
