Summary

In a penetrating and forthright style, Edward M. Bounds offers stimulating advice to Christian servants. "The preaching that kills may have insight and grasp of principles, may be scholarly and critical in taste, may have every minutia of the derivation and grammar of the letter....and yet may be like a frost, a killing frost. Preaching which kills is prayerless preaching. Without prayer, the preacher creates death, and not life.

This is one of the best and briefest books ever written on the necessity of praying for power on your life. I highly recommend it to anyone who is serious about serving the Lord Jesus Christ.

One of the best about prayer

This book has just moved into my top five books about prayer. E.M. Bounds covers various types of prayer and how to move towards "praying without ceasing." His ideas are Biblically sound and easy to follow.

If you want some great advice about revamping your prayer life, this audiobook would be a wonderful choice. The narration is excellent, and the book is a quick listen.

WOW!

This was profound! The book and the reading of it were both excellent. A necessary read or listen for any Christian who hopes to have a holy and useful experience.

I was very impressed by the reading, which brought much life and authority to the powerful words written by E.M. Bounds. It was altogether a pleasant experience which made me glad to have purchased it and to have tried Audible Books.

Excellent book, pretty good recording

The book was flawless, I totally recommend it. Great place to start with E. M. Bounds.

The recording was clear and easy to understand, but the style of the voice was a bit distracting for me personally. I can hardly imagine Mr. Bounds himself sounding anything remotely like the narrator, either in tone or accent.

Overcall very good, powerful and short. Will probably listen to it again shortly.

Well worth the prayerful listen

Have we forgotten to pray? Daily? Before we start our day?
Listen, meditate, is the Church praying?
We need to pray, especially in these unprecedented times.

Thought Provoking

Applicable today where being busy (Being Under Satan's Yoke) is prevalent. There is much to do for Christ but unfortunately much is done without Him. This little book will challenge you to knock off the religious pretense and encourage you to pray. Because it is your communion with the God of heaven that fuels your work (His work in you) here on earth.
