great story

I have the book but not read it yet so this is the first time i have heard it, I didn't know that the narrator was even an author and he did a very good job of both. I enjoyed everything about this.

Rockstar romance

I wasn't sure about this one when it first started but give it a chance you will be hooked. It was a slow start for me that's the one star off but after that it took off and I really enjoyed the story and the characters. At first I wasn't sure I was going to like Calvin but he grew on me as the story evolved. I also would like to say I did enjoy the narration as well.

Great narration, enjoyable story

The narration by Rodney Falcon really brought this story to life. When the first female voice came through I actually went back to check that there was only one narrator!

I am really not at all sure what to make of Calvin at all. At times I want to Gibbs slap him as he makes his own trouble. At times he's really thoughtful and sweet and at other times he seems like a child. Just a typical man? Something about him intrigues me though. I wanted to know what was going to happen. I enjoyed watching the characters and their relationships. I also enjoyed where the story went.

A bit surprised!

Really, I didn't realize the narrator and author were the same. However, I loved the narration. I've only noticed this combo one other time, the narrator and author being one, but I feel like they know what they want out of their characters so their narration should be perfect. I might rate a smidge harder due to this. But I liked the narration. I really found the storyline sweet. It is a kind of insta-love type story. I don't mind that. Sometimes when you know, you just know. I really liked Calvin and Jess. I loved where they author took their story... even if areas seemed a bit too outlandish... oh well, I read to be transported to made up places so it didn't bother me one bit :)

Let this story Rock your ears

This is a fantastic debut story from Rodney. Not only did he write it but he performed it . Love how he wrote about a Rock star that is more then a Rock star he’s a Rock Star gentleman.

Hero is Calvin. Heroine is Jess
Jess is just starting out her career, she wants it to just skyrocket. She went from Minnesota to LA for an acting carrier but it’s not as easy as she thought.
Calvin carrier is at its finest . Not only his carrier but he knows what’s important in life . Heath , respect for others he’s a gentleman through and through.
But chance Calvin and Jess meet in a coffee shop. They hit it off right away . It seems that they knew each other from old. But they just meet . There are some nasty people that comes between both of them , a TV producer and stalkers that are out for each of them.

Rodney performance was great. His tone is perfect, His voice is $exy , strong and clear

Show or tell?

Telling your audience what you want them to know, is not bad. Sometimes it has to be done. But I felt that is pretty much all what happened. I never felt as if I was a part of or in the book. I never connected with the characters because I felt a friend was telling me events that happened. While, when I read a book, I was to escape to that world. Sadly, that never happened for me here. Still a good story line, I just believe it could have been written a bit better.

Calvin and

Calvin is a successful popstar who has the money to buy anything he wants and the looks to have anyone he wants. He is getting tired of the lifestyle and would like nothing more than to fall in love and have a relationship but finding the right woman isn’t as easy as it appears.

Jess is a struggling actress who works as a grocery clerk while she auditions hoping for her big break. She and Calvin meet by chance at a coffeeshop and they have an immediate connection and chemistry.

His celebrity lifestyle and his past bring complications to their relationship but anything worth having is worth fighting for. The author is also the narrator and I thought he did a great job at bringing all the emotions of the story to life. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this audiobook.

A bit too fast but sweet story

I got the audiobook and was surprised that the author was the narrator for the story and did a good job, I had to turn up the speed though. The book itself is sweet, too fast, and a bit unreal. The romance is instant as well as everything else. The first chapters I found myself reading to many sexy scenes, but after a bit it just had a bit more plot. If you are looking for a very fast story this will do.

Nice

I enjoyed this book it flowed well. Calvin Glass was a little confused he wanted true love but think he gave his heart a little to easy. It was a nice story and kept me well entertained.

Rodney Falcon has a nice voice and draws you into the story well. He does well with female voice not to OTT just right.

I look forward to more from Rodney Falcon i enjoyed his story and narration.x

It was just OK

I really, really, really tried hard to like Popstar. I love all books/audiobooks that have anything to do with musicians. I was able to connect with Calvin, but I think that Jess’s character needed more...more emotion is what comes to mind while I’m writing this. Also, there were some things that happen that we only get as after thoughts. The story line is good, manwhore pop star wants to change his ways and wants more out of life.

Rodney Falcon did a great job narrating, his voice was perfect for Cal, however Jess’s POV needed a female narrator. I couldn’t distinguish between the two very well.

Calvin and Jess

Wow! This one really had my emotions bouncing around. One min I can’t stand Cal and his actions then I completely think he’s a nice guy but then he goes back to being a jerk. I don’t know WHAT he is thinking while in New York. Watch out Cal....Karma will be coming your way. He is a pop star and I can’t possibly imagine what he goes through along the “being famous” line. Paparazzi, stalkers and over zealous fans are just to name a few. I will say he seemed very gentlemanly toward Jess.

I had no real feelings for Jess either way. There wasn’t anything to really impress me about her. She didn’t arrive on the scene until a ways Into the story. In fact I had to look and make sure Tonya wasn’t the female lead with as much as Cal enjoyed and remembered her.

While i realize this is written by a male i was curious if there would have been emotions brought forth in the characters. The characters mention how they feel but to me all i heard was the words. I wasn’t able to connect with the characters so i couldn’t *feel* what they were saying. This story is good and easy to follow along with and the characters are likable. Yes it is full of steamy scenes and I epwas happy once the story started moving forward filled with

I listened to this on audio and felt the author did a pretty good job. On the female and males voices he did a good job. I was easily able to tell who was who mostly.

Very Popstar

Popstar was a bit of a hot mess with regards to the story line. Of course it follows suit with the Rock Star life-style most likely, but there were contradictions all over the place with the characters. One minute we're respecting women, next we're oogling every body under the sun. Did Calvin, the Popstar, respect all 350 women he slept with along the way? I'm on the fence with that one. It starts out more like a diary, then he finds a special someone, but even their relationship was all over the place. So the story needs a whole lot of work IMHO. The narrator's voice, now that was a hot commodity! His voice reminds me of another narrator that I've always loved listening to as well, but I won't mention it here. Seriously hot voice, I thought, which was the only thing that kept me listening until the end.

Such hope for all that this book had to offer

I really loved the premise for this story; unfortunately, that was the best part. So much of the story was like a cheap porn movie, I kept waiting for the pizza driver to show up and for the sex on the pool table to begin. The storyline just never really flowed once it actually got into it. The dialogue was expected and ho hum. Sadly, there was nothing unexpected in the entire book and it was all I could do to finish listening to it.

Unfortunately, the narration was not any better. I wish I could say so, but it wasn't. They male parts were fine, but the female parts were phoney and not easy to believe. I really wanted to believe them, but it was immpossible.

I cannot recommend this book to anyone - I am sorry,

Celebrity Encounters Of The Best Kind

As someone who grew up boyband crazy and saw Justin Timberlake in multiple stops on his current tour this book is in no way a fever dream from my middle school diary.

It’s dirty, it’s sexy, it’s fun as hell. Jess gets to have the fantasy we’ve all (tell me I’m not alone here)had since childhood and is taking us along for the ride.

This is narrated by the author and he’s super convincing in the role and makes it easy to get lost in the story.

I would recommend this to fans of celebrity romance, contemporary romance and bad boy/ rockstar types.

A Famous Singer Can’t Figure Out Why HisLife Is Empty

Calvin is a famous pop singer who feels something is empty in his life and he is lonely. But he also has meaningless hooks, basically brokered by his manager or whoever can locate a social media fan in whatever city he’s in.
He talks constantly about what a nice guy he is, but in each of the first chapters he has sex with women he downs t know.
Jess is looking for her first acting break and runs into Calvin at a coffee shop.
Jess is fine as a character, but I just couldn’t like Calvin...he like the person that’s always telling everyone what a goos/nice person they are...generally they are the opposite.
He is so proud of himself when he barely keeps from jumping on any vagina that moves...not really endearing and i would wonder how he could ever be faithful. Most likely break his arm patting himself on the back!
The narrator did a perfect job..excellent narrator.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review
