Summary

From the million-copy best-selling author Amanda Prowse, the queen of heartbreak fiction.

Amanda Prowse is the author of The Coordinates of Loss and the number-one best sellers Perfect Daughter, My Husband's Wife and What Have I Done?

Ever since hairdresser Poppy Day married her childhood sweetheart, Mart, she's been deliriously happy. Now Mart is fighting in Afghanistan, and Poppy is counting the days until he returns.

It takes one knock at the door to rip Poppy's world apart. Mart has been taken hostage, and it's too dangerous for the army to rescue him.

Poppy is determined to bring him home herself. But her journey will lead her to a heartbreaking dilemma. What price will she pay to save the man she loves?

This is a gripping story of loss and courage from an author who knows what it is like to be the one left behind.

Gripping story

I found the story gripping but a bit too graphic for my liking with regard to some of the violence.

Beautiful

However outlandish the story line is likely to be I enjoyed imagining the guts of such a woman refusing to tow the PC line. Admittedly I like her because although 64 soon and a Northerner I see myself in her!
Love conquers all.
I really enjoyed the book, poignant moments and funny too.
Poppy Day you're beautiful
