Summary

Are you always being hurt by someone you know? Do their actions involve verbal assault, them bragging about their control, and are they mostly taking advantage of you? If yes, then you know a narcissist.

Do you exhibit the above characters consciously or without knowing when you do them? If your answer is yes as well, then you are a narcissist!

Should you be alarmed? Yes.

Some people believe that narcissism is a mental disorder, while others believe it's a defense mechanism; however, it is a thing of great concern for the narcissist and the people they affect. This book explains how to identify a narcissist, what are the types of relationships they set up, how they define their victims, and how to detach from such relationships with them to save yourself.

The entrails of the book provides information on:

  • Identifying what makes narcissists stick with their victims and the misconceptions and fault-lines that define such associations when certain behaviors are shown
  • Knowing how they raise concern, especially if they're mostly incompassionate. Suspicions will arise as to if this is narcissism.
  • Paying attention to detail on the selection process based on if their subjects can be controlled, how dominant they are over their victims, and the steps to trapping and taking the victim after identification and selection.
  • Defining when narcissists should seek therapy, if they even go for treatment, and what makes them accept change.

Here are guidelines to properly manage the break from a narcissist and for narcissists, from their nature.

If you are a narcissist, the book offers a way out, and if you know one, this material is an escape route for them onto a better personality.

The most extreme effect of narcissism is abuse, and there are detailed accounts given by the NPD.

This book is a must-have, so buy the audiobook now!

Good content but awful narration

The content is great but it takes a lot of hard work to actually listen to it.
The narration pays no attention to grammar, therefore a lot of context is lost. It creates a lot of confusing statements that need listening to a few times to actually work out what is being said.

Nice audiobook.

I liked the methodical approach to each personality dysfunction - definition and symptoms, psychological analysis, how to approach and deal with including what to say/not to say. This is helpful in professional, family and friendship relationships. I wish I had listened to this when I had an oppressive superior. I could have been more proactive instead of freezing. Practical help.

Loved this book.

Loved this book. It made me think that everyone has a hang up somewhere about their body. Everyone! And if another person can’t love and accept you for who you are, then maybe you need to think about spending time with someone who does.
