Plan Bea is a story exploring the lost relationship of a mother and daughter. When Bea gets engaged to a man she’s recently met, she calls on her daughter Annabel to help her plan it, despite not having spoken more than a few sentences to her without schedule.
I felt a lot of emotions listening to this story. Sympathy for Annabel, annoyance for Bea, love for Annabel’s daughter Violet and son Harley and complete adoration for the husband/fiancé Cole and Walter. The story did seem slow at points but it was interesting to listen to.
This is completely heart warming as you can relate to Annabel craving for her mother’s attention and approval. Writer Gossman has created some great and very realistic characters.
Narrator Lisa Beacom is absolutely perfect for this book. She’s so multitalented with her range in voice tone and steady rhythm. She really keeps the story flowing, even at points where it did seem to drag a little for me.
Overall, I did enjoy this book, there was a minor twist which I had already guessed the second they met on Bea’s wedding day, but it was really heartwarming. If you’re like me and you need a lot of drama, this may not be the book for you. However, I thought it was very well written, very well narrated and was a really cute book.
