About this listen
USA Today and Wall Street Journal best-selling author Amy Vansant—Queen of the Feel-Good Thriller—sends her lead sleuth to the east coast of Florida in this 10th installment of the best-selling Pineapple Port cozy mystery series!
Newly minted detective Charlotte Morgan discovers a mysterious box in her attic, the contents of which lead her to a hotel packed with strange characters and a link to her family's past. Trusting the crafty Yorkie-toting manager will be as difficult as tracking down a missing child...and the woman who might be her aunt....
Back in Pineapple Port, Charlotte's boyfriend gets tangled in a local tomato war as the locals band together to stop a corporation from destroying their fallen friend's field.
BONUS! You'll meet characters from Amy Vansant's spin-off Shee McQueen mystery series! Get a sneak peek at another wacky, wonderful world of intrigue and unforgettable characters!
Pineapple Turtles is part of the Pineapple Port Series but can be enjoyed as a stand-alone. It's a do-not-miss novel for fans of Jana DeLeon, Janet Evanovich, Tim Dorsey, Joanna Fluke, Alan Bradley, and, of course, Agatha Christie.
©2020 Amy Vansant (P)2022 Amy VansantThis is very different from the rest of the pineapple port mysteries but it is still a good read. There are three case or situations running along in the book, keeping you wondering what is going on and how they are related if at all. Especially as the story is told by multiple characters, so it does jump around. Charlotte is the only one to have a case to solve with the disappearance of a baby and finding out information on a missing aunt. Mariska, Darla and even Shamus are sadly missing from this book (if you are a fan of Amy's work then you know who I mean) so it doesn't have its usual laugh out loud moments but there was glimpses, good job for Declan and Bob. The main reason for this is because Charlotte is going it alone and is investigating a personal case, one that creates a spin off series and one that I hope makes it to Audible.
Charlotte is woken up in the middle of the night by drops of rain landing on her head. On further investigation she discovers a well hidden box that opens up lots of secrets and questions. When her adoptive mother can't answer them she sets out for a mystery hotel pictured in one of the news clippings. Things only get weirder as nobody knows her but Charlotte doesn't believe the hotel manager who keeps dodging her questions. The only clue Charlotte has is a bunch of blank post cards, with just the hotels addresses on. Could they really be from her missing aunt and if so what do they mean? Then a baby gets stolen and Charlotte has to extend her stay. She can't go home until she gets to the bottom of the two mysteries. Back home Declan has his hands full trying to repair the leak and Sheriff Frank and Bob have a friends land to protect. What will Charlotte come home to find?
I like the narrator. She is the voice of the Pineapple characters
