I loved this book when it first came out and I read it on my kindle, so when I saw I could re' live the fun with the audio version, I had to have it. I knew I would quickly become deeply engrossed in an engaging, humours mystery and I wasn't disappointed, in fact I think I enjoyed it even more than the first time round. The characters, especially Darla & Mariska are some of the best out there, with there knack for causing chaos while trying to do the right thing. The mystery was good and I liked the whole treasure hunt idea for clues on a case that was already solved by the victim, who I was surprised the author killer off. With the case sort of solved it did mean that there weren't very many suspects but it more than made up for it in fun. I can't wait for the next mystery.
Charlotte living in a retirement village is use to death but when the ambulance stops outside her friends Tilly's house and she is found clutching a note for Charlotte, things are anything but normal. Instead Charlotte finds herself hunting down clues that were gifted as present to the local residents and if she doesn't find them all, she could be the next victim of a serial killer. Somehow Tilly stumbled over clues pointing her to a serial killer who is travelling all over the country killing off amateur detectives and the killer is in Pineapple port but she herself died before she could get the proof. Now it's up to Charlotte. Can newly minted Charlotte and her new partner Declan find the killer before another detective is killed?
I still don't understand why this series hasn't been turned into a tv show, everybody needs a good chuckle.
The choice of narrator helps the chuckles to keep rolling in, especially with her excellent performance.
