Boston police officer Michael Wheeler finds his beloved wife Shawna dead on the morning of his second day on the force. Because he couldn't trust the authorities, Michael decided to investigate the murder on his own. There are some interesting ideas throughout the story, especially surrounding the mystery and the connection to the police commissioner’s family history. The shorter runtime also makes it a quick listen.
For me personally, the narration made it harder to fully connect with the emotional weight and tension of the story. I think with a different delivery, some of the dramatic moments and suspense could have landed more strongly.
Overall, an intriguing sci-fi mystery concept with potential, especially for listeners who enjoy time travel and investigative themes.
