Özet

*DETECTIVE HOLE IS NOW A MAJOR NETFLIX SERIES*

The police don't want him back...

After the horrors of a case that nearly cost him his life, Harry Hole left Oslo and the police force far behind him. Now he's back, but the case he's come to investigate is already closed, and the suspect already behind bars.

The criminals don't want him back...

Denied permission to reopen the investigation, Harry strikes out on his own, quickly discovering a trail of violence and mysterious disappearances apparently unnoticed by the police. At every turn, Harry is faced with a wall of silence.

But Harry is not the only one interested in the case. From the moment he steps off the plane, someone is watching his every move.

...Someone wants him silenced

Eleştirmen yorumları

Jo Nesbo is a master of his craft. His latest novel, Phantom, is world-class crime writing. Phantom is a crime novel that pleases on every level.
The latest novel about Harry Hole, Phantom, is possibly the best in the series.
With a steady hand, Jo Nesbo deftly ties together the different narratives, steering the novel towards its goal with great precision...The fact that Harry Hole is a character in constant development makes the book even more interesting... Great, sombre summer reading.

This wonderful thriller is not for the feint hearted, or for the reader who is looking for a relaxing listen. It is however absorbing and slowly gravs the reader and brings you into the gritty world of the Oslo drug scene. Nesbo's great skill is to slowly build the plot around great characters.

This book is quite different to anything else Nesbo has written. Part of the narrative is written through the eyes of the murder victim, this format however works well. As usual Sean barrett does a great job, his ability to bring characters to life I believe makes him one of the best narrators out there.

The book ends on an absolute knife edge, and the reader is left to reach their own conclusions, but the author leaves us enough clues, to hope that Harry Hole will be back.

Edgy and dark, a triumph.

Would you consider the audio edition of Phantom: A Harry Hole Thriller, Book 9 to be better than the print version?

Another great edition to the Harry Hole series, Jo Nesbo weaves a complex plot involving Police hierachy, Harry's nearest and dearest as well as a drugs overlord thrown in for good measure. I'm amazind how Nesbo manages to keep the plot lines and characters fresh. Sean Barret once again brings the characters to life in with his moody, gravelly tones. The book reaches a great climax which will leave you ordering the next in the series straight away. Let's hope Nesbo can keep going with Harry Hole and any plans to bring the character to film are short lived.

More heart pumping suspence from Jo Nesbo...

I think I get these books to listen to Sean Barrett, and the rest is an add on. Poor Harry Hole, is there nothing more he can go through. I wish Jo Nesbo would give him a break.
But good listening, good story.

Well good listening but heard it before. ?
