About this listen

Peter Kay returns with his most entertaining autobiography yet!

‘Think of this autobiography as a twelve-month subscription to my memories and meanderings across the calendar year. With each month reflecting a different phase of my life, complete with dodgy decisions, bizarre plot twists and more than a few laugh-out-loud moments.’

Peter Kay is back – and funnier than ever – with his most heartfelt and hilarious autobiography yet. Take a whistlestop journey through his life, in a year. From hitting the gym in January, falling in love in February and a nostalgic trip to Ireland at Easter, to buying his first house in May. Then it’s summer holidays at Butlins, a September wedding and, before you know it, he’s packing away the Halloween decorations and sipping a glass of Bailey’s in front of the Christmas telly.

With his trademark warmth and wit, Peter offers a unique take on the calendar year – in a way only he can – cementing his place as one of Britain’s best-loved comedians and a true national treasure.

Omg. Peter you are so funny. I can’t stop laughing about your dad trying to get Amy’s toffee of her false teeth. I wish there were more months in a year so this book never ended. You always write such good books that makes me laugh and make me feel happy. Thankyou.

Brilliant read.

I have read all of Peters other books, but, having recently got Audible, I figured I'd use a credit to get this book and listen to it instead. I knew it was narrated by Peter himself so knew it would be good - but it was even better than that!

It really does just sound like you're listening to a 7 hour stand up show of his, with the expceted put on accents for the various people in his life, with the aside comments that I wonder if he just said in the booth when recording or were actually in the book.

Had a smile on my face the whole time while listening (which was while at work!) and I full expect to listen to it again sometime. Worth the buy and especially worth the credit, if you've got one that wants spending!

It's like listening to a stand up show!

I loved this diary, being a similar age to Peter I could relate to so much of the story. Also coming from a working class family with little money I could recall my childhood in his words, although we never got to go abroad.

December touched me particularly as we lost our beloved mum this year, she loved Christmas and would always be the one asking if he’d been as we crept down the stairs, this year Christmas will be hard but we have our memories. Knowing other families have similar traditions helps.

Thank you Peter for once again having me laughing and crying.

Perfect in every way.

Told with Peter Kays usual humour, I really enjoyed it. Ok some of the stories he tells I've heard before but I put the chapters on and it made me laugh and thats what I wanted from it just to sit for half an hour and laugh.

Love to know when he's going to narrate his other book.

Really funny

I have read all Peter's books - this one as the others didn't disappoint. Some genuinely laugh out loud moments ... I was in the gym ... dangerous and awkward! As others have said ... a lot of repeats sadly ... also wish it was longer ... could listen to this very funny loveable man for sooo many more hours. First and only time that I'll go back and re-read this just in case I've missed any nuggets. Can't wait for your next one Peter xx

A Delightful Diary Read

Enjoyable as always! Several recycled stories we have heard from Peter before, but enough new ones to keep you entertained - the audiobook version would be preferable as hearing Kay himself regale us with these tales will never lose it's charm.

Enjoyable!
