Summary

Everyone thought I was married to the perfect man. But if Conall Walsh were perfect, I wouldn't have killed him.

I thought I got away with it until I received an anonymous note at the ballet company I dance for:

You were a very bad girl. If you don't want me to report what I know about last night, meet me at the old opera house after rehearsal. I will tell you the price of my silence when you arrive. If you speak of this or bring anyone with you... no deal.

But his price isn't money. It's me.

This book is a stand-alone contemporary dark romance.

This was a little boring

I didn't enjoy Perfection despite the fact that the summary really appealed to me.
This was because we did not learn much about the blackmailer/male protagonist until we got closer to the end. I understand why this occurred (plot) but as a result I didn't feel like I connected with the male character. Due to this lack of connection I stopped caring about them and got bored.
Sadly I cannot recommend this book but I loved The Escape Artist which I very much enjoyed.

This is Kitty at her best!

I don't know where to even start with this one. It exceeded all of my expectations.

To preface, I'm a huge Kitty fan, I love everything she writes so I was of course hoping I'd like this. However, in general, I don't like books about dancers or artists, I've read a few and they're just not my jam. So with all that being said, I wasn't expecting to love this as much as I usually love a Kitty book, I was wrong, so wrong.

This book was fantastic. It had all of the elements that make a great Kitty book; dark and dangerous heroes, mind fuckery and kinky sex. It also had a great story and characters, I just loved it.

I loved Cassia. She was strong, determined and brave. She also happened to be wonderfully subby given the right situation. I appreciate that Kitty's heroines don't have 'too stupid to live' syndrome that you see in a lot of dark romance, where the heroine feels the need to fight against her situation out of principle, despite it being a ridiculously stupid thing to do. Cassia is strong in so many ways, she's also smart enough to just go along for the ride, and it's a great one.

I loved the concept of this book, it's such a cool idea. She kills her husband, almost gets away with it and then has to appease her blackmailer. It makes for a really twisted relationship, I was there for every second of it.

I don't want to say anything about the blackmailer, because spoilers, other than I love him.

The twists and turns in this book were great, I didn't see them coming, at all. The ending in particular was just fantastic.

I feel like the last four books Kitty has written have each been just as good as, if not better than what's came before. My all time favourites are Comfort Food and Tender Mercies and this is seriously coming close to pushing The Escape Artist out of third place. It's incredible, it really is, I would say Perfection is one of Kitty's best books yet.

Immersive. Simply Perfection.

Between the engaging story and seamless narration from Shirl Rae, I got so immersed in this audiobook! With murder, mystery, H-O-T sex scenes, and ballet, I was hooked from the first chapter! The narration only added to that, with differentiating tones for each of the characters that never came off as forced and never distracted from the story. I first read this book in ebook form. The main character is so relatable (don’t worry, I swear I have no urge to kill anyone) and even more so in audio form with the conversational tone Shirl uses. I loved how Kitty Thomas used her knowledge of the ballet world to create a story that just felt so raw. And those sex scenes?! Wow! I swear, just listening to them raised the temperature in the room! Really, the combination of, in my opinion, Kitty’s best work and an immersive narration from Shirl, this audiobook was perfection!!!

This audio was PERFECTION

Let me say this loud so the people in the cheap seats can hear, this author is AMAZING. This author is one of a kind. This author blows me away every single time I read her books. I read this book when it came out and having now listened to it, it was like falling in love for the first time all over again. I LOVED the main characters. I LOVED the little one liners. I LOVED the narrator and I am happy to find out she is narrating the next book for Kitty. Standing ovation for this author and this narrator. I cannot wait for the next book to read and the next book to listen to. Absolutely stunning as usual. 5 stars isnt enough but thats all I have to work with.

Perfection not only in words but in sound as well

I absolutely loved this book when I read it, but listening to this lovely narrator bring the story to life with her words was amazing! Dark erotica books are so hit miss with Audible narrators, sometimes I cringe listening to them othertimes I fall in love with the characters voices. This book is definitely the later with it's narrator doing a perfect job of making the emotions clearly heard in her words but not overly done. This book keeps you guessing with all its mystery and intrigue and the narrator will draw you in as the story plays out ensuring this is an audible book you will want to listen too time and time again!

Adult Ballet Content

I loved the world the author takes you in. In this case, she has certainly done her research, and I’m very impressed. I enjoyed the narrator’s performance, and each voice she chose for the different characters.

Perfection

Wow, this book is phenomenal. I truly enjoyed reading and listening to this story. It’s the perfect title for this book of dancing in the dark. I love how Cassia finds herself drawn to her blackmailers voice slowly. What I truly find more intriguing is how Sebastian and Brandon surprised Cassia . I have to say it was the highlight and the twist that had me feeling like Cassia. Above all I do find that Brandon, Sebastian and Cassia all complete each other.

It has been a while since I have read one of Kitty Thomas's books, and this brought me back to the same thrill I had while reading the others!

Not sure what I was expecting. Not sure how I feel

So I struggled with all the Ballet terminology. It completely took me out of the story. The entire time I was wondering how this was going to conclude and I was definitely shocked. I failed to fall in love/lust with the characters and I'm glad this was a short listen. The narrator did a decent job, but I felt sometimes that I was being read to and the acting suffered.

Perfection

This is my first book by Kitty Thomas but it definitely won't be my last. Perfection sucked me in right from the very beginning all the way until the end. It had just the right amount of suspense, danger, intrigue and hotness. I loved everything about it and can't wait for more of Kitty's books to come out on audio. Shirl Rae did an amazing job bringing this story to life.

Great story!

Let me start with, I've already read the book. I already knew what was going to happen and how it was going to end. I normally 'listen' to books via the text to speech function on my Kindle, which is how I experienced Perfection the first time around. Now I am popping my Audible cherry by listening to a book that is actually narrated. The difference is... What am I saying? There is no difference. I may never go back to Text to Speech!

A ballerina in a less than stellar marriage, offs her abusive husband, gets caught and now looks to be blackmailed into meeting up with a stranger. Hmmm… Got to admit, the very beginning of the book after Cassia has done the dirty deed, I may have been a bit true crime giggly. Then I sobered up and just lost myself in the story. I found myself thoroughly enjoying all the aspects of the ballet bits as well as the situation Cassia finds herself in. Who is the blackmailer? What could he want from her? Not money so the obvious next thing is…but why and better yet, why Cassia?

As the beauty of the story continues, I found myself lulled into a false since of contentment. That is until TADA! heart stopping moment. The showstopper that had my jaw the floor and scrambling back for a fast re-read even before I finished the book. What? What?! I…WHAT?!?! 0.o

Now back to previously having read the book. The difference between reading a book for the first time then listening to an audiobook is my preconceived notions of what I think each character sounds like. The narrator, Shirl Rae, did a fine job of matching the essence of the feel and emotion of Cassia. I struggle a bit when she spoke in her version of Cassia’s (for lack of a better name) blackmailer. This in no way reflects on Ms. Rae’s narration but instead goes back to my preconceived notions. Had I been experiencing this book with all its Whats! and OMGs! for the very first time, I would have undoubtedly enjoyed it in all its…Perfection.

Great ebook!

I always get excited about a new Kitty Thomas story and absolutely loved experiencing Perfection as an ebook. It had the wonderfully complicated storyline one comes to expect and the narration was so well done! How well an audio book can make or break one’s enjoyment and I was extremely pleased.

Cassia has the perfect life when viewed from the outside world, but her abusive marriage made each and every day difficult. She thought she finally had freedom, until a mysterious man blackmails her. Soon she finds herself doing everything Master tells her, including things she never imagined she would be willing to do.
