Fab podcast!

Excellent podcast. Olivia Coleman and Andrew Scott would be great dinner party guests in non covid times. A really enjoyable listen

Mostly great when Dermot doesn't get in the way

I really like these, though sometimes Dermot needs to get out of the way and stop jumping into his guests answers. Episode 3 is a good example, there was one in the earlier seasons which annoyed me in the same way. Otherwise great stuff.

it needs to be something you'd like

I think the idea is fine, though by its very nature the enjoyment or not of the book is going to depend on the guests. I dislike Olivia Colman's swearing, which was unnecessary, though I also appreciate it was her chatting. I'm not precious about it. Dermot O'Leary did a fine job as would be expected. The only interview I found interesting was Niall Horan but that's because I was intrigued to listen to his life. it's a very much a case of, if the person being interviewed interests you, it's a good listen. If not, it's boring. so, neither good nor bad, purely personal preference.

Lovely relaxing chat. Dermot is excellent.

A real chance to get to know the person well. Dermot really engages with them and knows what they've done and what makes them tick.

Loved it

I don't often leave a review but felt I had to for this series. Dermot is an amazing interviewer and the guests are so varied and interesting. I have learnt that Olivia Colman is hilarious as is Andrew Scott and Nail Horan gave a real insight into being thrust into stardom and that I would never want to be a bomb disposal specialist. It is a must listen and am now going to download the rest

Honest, funny, touching. Loved it

I love Dermot's openness and humility and this is reciprocated in how his guests respond to him. Makes an insightful, and times poignant podcast that bit extra special. Please do a Part 2 with Olivia and Andrew, and gin.

Heartwarming stuff but safe ground?

Enjoyable companion to my daily walk, Dermot has a warm friendly and engaging interview style but rarely asks his subjects tough questions about their life experiences. Fascinating none the less! Well worth the 44 mins to 1 hour listen.
