Summary

Everything has just changed, and Eric is surrounded by faces new and old.

Following straight on from the climactic events of Peas, Carrots and a Red Feather Boa, Eric Sibley faces a completely new landscape. As he struggles to come to terms with his new situation, he finds support and help in some of the most unlikely places.

With the family dynamics constantly shifting and dramatically altered, Eric must try and rebuild a life for all of them. In the face of overwhelming odds, he is determined to turn chaos into order.

Unfortunately, this is easier said than done...when the most unlikely new arrivals turn up in his household, some more welcome than others.

While this is easily the most emotional book in the series, it is also brimming with Hannah Lynn’s trademark wit and humor. Prepare to laugh and cry longer and louder than ever before when you listen to this third installment of the Peas and Carrots series.

Author and narrator make a talented team

I'd already read the book, and have listened to this audio version several times now while doing this and that, there's always something new that pops out at me. The characterisation is brilliant, both the writing and narration. I'm absolutely loving how Yvette's character is developing and taking on more and more juicy dimensions. Compared to the 2 previous more light-hearted books in the series, this story is raw and presents the dramatic events with an acute realism. But there are still the signature funny bits! This is my honest and unbiased review after receiving a free audio code for this book.

Love, loss, guilt, friendship, hope and resilience

Following the tragic events of the previous instalment, Eric tries to come to terms with his new circumstances. Luckily he finds help and support in the most unlikely places. With the family dynamics now forever altered, Eric attempts to rise above the heartbreak and chaos and embrace his new situation. Unfortunately this is easier said than done when an unexpected visitor turns up on his doorstep, leading Eric to make a life changing decision.. Peas, Carrots and Six Feet More is the third instalment of the Peas and Carrots series and picks up immediately after the events of the previous book. I had just finished reading The Christmas Proposal, so Eric and Susie’s early years was fresh in my mind. I was therefore completely unprepared for the jaw dropping revelation at the beginning as I totally did not see it coming. I held my emotions in check until Eric saw Cynthia for the first time and then, like Eric, found myself becoming completely unravelled. The character development has been exceptional throughout, each character showing real depth and substance. Eric has come such a long way since the opening chapters of the first book. I felt a myriad of emotions as Eric and Abi tried to deal with what the world had thrown at them. Yvette in particular proved to be a godsend and showed immense strength of character. Love, loss, guilt, friendship, hope and resilience... This book deals with many of life’s challenges and tribulations. While this is easily the most emotional book of the series, it also brims with Hannah Lynn’s trademark humour and wit and had me smiling despite the tears. I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for Eric in the next instalment. I received an advanced free audible copy of Peas, Carrots and Six More Feet and I am voluntarily reviewing it. Rafe Beckley has once again done an admirable job of bringing the story and characters to life with his clear and concise narration. He has fast become one of my favourite narrators.

I laughed. I cried.

I received this book via a free promo code and this is my voluntary review. This is continuing the journey of Eric Sibley and his allotment... it feels like visiting old friends in heartbreaking circumstances. Hannah Lynn expertly weaves a tale of a family man trying to pick up the pieces and push forward when the entire fabric of his life unravels. Simply put... its a portrait of a family trying to learn how to breathe again. Emotionally this book puts you 10 rounds in a bull ring. Whether its a following Yvette's role in holding her son-in-law together and dealing with the consequences of her husbands infidelity, or Abi's challenging behavior at school or Eric dealing with his loss. Staying in one piece is this families priority. Everything in the pages ached as they limped along but the humor was still present. I enjoyed it. Rafe Beckley does an amazing job with his performance narrating this book.

the story continues...

Received a free audio version of this book in exchange for a review. I enjoyed book 2 and book 3-light reading; nothing earth moving but i would like to find out what happens. Not sure I want to find out bad enough to purchase the books bc there are tons of others on my wish list but I am not opposed to a free copy :)

Another great listen in the series!

This book picks up right where book two left off. Eric must come to terms with life without Suzie and find his new normal with his daughter Abby. This book could have been very sad as Eric deals with his grief and spirals downward. But help comes from unexpected places and there is enough zany characters and plot twists, that this is another entertaining and witty book in the series. The narrator is the perfect fit in all ways. I have enjoyed this series immensely and wish there was a book 4 to continue the story. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

sorry, not my cup of tea

sorry, I read this book purely by the look of the cover. My fault entirely. I assumed (yeah, I know) this would be a quick cozy mystery.....it is NOT.

Peas, Carrots and Six More Feet

After the shocking conclusion to the previous book, I needed to jump right in to this one! I’ve definitely become attached to these characters. Check out how Eric handles his new reality and watch out for the shocking ending. Another great installment in the Peas and Carrots series written by Hannah Lynn and narrated by Rafe Beckley. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Loved it! Need book 4!

I so did not see that coming with Suzy. While I was a fan of her, it was sad that she died. Wow! When it was time for the family to go to the funeral, I can admit my eyes did start watering. That was a sad scene (Nice job, Hannah!) Again, the narrator is doing a great job. I have no complaints about him. I swear there’s something about the English/British accent that really makes a story great, the majority of the time. I only had one comment. I couldn’t figure out why Eric was so upset that Suzy had never told him that her sister, Lydia, had given birth to a baby boy when she was younger (prior to finding out it was actually Suzy’s baby). He kept saying how she obviously didn’t trust him. Um… it had nothing to do with him. It happened decades prior. What was the big deal? Of course with that ending… I need book 4! I received a free audiobook code of this story in exchange for an honest review.

Oh my broken heart!

I can't say much without spoiling it... It is sooo good! Abbie is a brat and good for Eric for telling her so. I don't care how old she is or what she has been through...she is just annoying and I want to shut her up at times. After saying that..I still love her..but she gets away with to much. I am waiting for Eric to grow a set and actually BE a Dad!! Again the humor is gone because the story is just so devastating. I could not stop listening!! I need a mood ring of my own now.

Heartfelt Struggle with Humor

I received this book for free. I am voluntarily posting this review and all opinions expressed herein are my own. This is the third book in the Peas and Carrots series. It is not a standalone book and ends on a cliffhanger. In order to truly enjoy and understand the characters of this series, you need to start with Book 1 - "Peas, Carrots, and an Aston Martin." I highly recommend the entire series. Coming off the cliffhanger from the end of book 2, I was surprised by its outcome. Now Eric, his daughter Abi, and his mother-in-law Yvette have to struggle to put their family back together. This was written in a very real and touching manner that absolutely broke my heart. But, not only are they dealing with a loss, they have to deal with Yvette's husband's infidelity at the same time. While the humor is definitely still present in this third installment, this one, for me, was more emotional and more raw for the Sibley family. Highly recommend! The narrator, Rafe Beckley, is the same narrator for the entire series and is perfect in conveying the pain and humor in this installment.

A lie, a mystery and a baby

Wow, just when I thought there would be no more twist and turns I was dead wrong. This book is well written with a mystery that I just need to find out more about. I am hooked on this series I need more. The new characters are intriguing each one of them brings their own bit of mystery. I just need little Miss Abbey for about a week. I love how with each book the characters are more developed and you learn a little more about their past. I highly recommend this book and series of you love a little mystery and fun. I received this book at my request and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of my own volition.
