Tom Clancy they are not

These stories are entertaining but not in any way realistic. First there is no way that the United States would allow Canada or Mexico to be used as staging areas for a military buildup. The US Navy is capable of blockading both countries without any serous opposition and would do so under this scenario before these forces could arrive. Second, no country would risk nuclear annihilation in such an attempt as outlined in these stories. Third , the authors seem to have a limited grasp of area denial weapons and artillery's and air powers ability to deliver these weapons and anti armor weapons, Fourth, It is a huge stretch to imagine any flag officer defecting with a national asset with a willing crew and betraying his country and the legitimate national command authority. In short this story has little more depth than a comic book. While these stories are amusing they are not profound. The politics described in these stories is sadly more accurate. The Democratic party seems to be moving dangerously in the direction depicted in these stories.
