There are times when life feels like it has you cornered: financial difficulties, relationship issues, work problems, all of the above. Every one of us, at one time or another, will have to face up to the challenges that come our way. And there are two ways of meeting them: negatively, where blame is the answer, where other people are at fault, where you haven’t been treated fairly. Or positively, where you own the situation, learn and grow from it and become a better person at the end of it.

Who the f--k is Paul Mort?
Paul Mort is the 2020 Mastercoach of the Year, motivational speaker and coach of some of the best known names in personal development.
From facing rock bottom to becoming unstoppable, Paul Mort will teach you how to reclaim your fire, drive and purpose. Paul Mort Will Save Your Life shares the eight principles he has used to reshape not only his own life, but the lives of millions who have heard his message.

Paul will change the way you see yourself and those around you, help you to take powerful actions and recognise your progress. But more importantly – Paul Mort Will Save Your Life.

Valuable lessons...
Please don’t be fooled by my ratings.. there are some major takeaways from this book. I just feel that there was a lot of “waffle”. The big emphasis on “cool story bro”. I felt like a lot of the opening chapters was exactly that. Cool stories. They didn’t seem very authentic. Filling time maybe? There are some valuable lessons to be learned in later chapters which make the book completely worthwhile but I feel like the beginning was quite padded out. Maybe to justify it becoming a book rather that a podcast, or two? I’m not taking anything away from Paul, no doubt he’s a fantastic coach & motivator. But, for me, not the best storyteller. A lot of the stories didn’t seem very authentic. They all have the story tale ending. Down & out... signs up to a Paul Mort course... turns life around... amazing success. “Paul Mort will line his pockets” would’ve been a more apt book title. Good advice & guidance but could’ve easily been a podcast or two, rather than £8.99 a pop audio book.

Content fails to match the title.
Having read Paul's first book, which i thought was excellent, i was greatly looking forward to this. However i was very disappointed with the content. The title makes a big claim yet doesn't offer much in the way of practical, easy to do tips and advice. It seems quite a long listen, too long really as it's just a collection of stories of other people and a fair bit of the author talking about himself. The narration needs some work as well as, although the stories are real, the narration of them seems false and forced, not natural. It would have been better in a book format. That would have been easier to give practical step by step advice. All in all quite disappointing and not a patch on Paul's first book.

It's not bad, but it's not great.
There's some good advice about doing the basics to ensure you give yourself the best chance to thrive, but by the authors own admission the majority of the strategies discussed are taken from other sources - there's nothing new or ground breaking. The 'case studies' give some context to implementing the various methods in 'real life' scenarios, and whilst they may well be based on real stories, they come across as a little too constructed at times. I'm sure there are readers out there who will find this book useful, but for me it came across as more of a thinly veiled marketing/lead generation tool.

I didn't expect to like this book, but I found it to be excellent! Paul gives you a "how to" on becoming a better you! although all of the case studies were focused on men, many of the stories resonated with me personally! definitely one, if not the best guides to helping yourself I've read - and I have read ALOT

I made a massive decision before the end of Chapter 3
First of all being a northerner I felt comfortable listening, I was traveling to work in Santa Monica every 5 weeks for 1 week. It was good money but I felt like all I was doing in between was waiting to go to Santa Monica. I’m lucky I have a younger wife who makes ridiculous money so money was not an issue. I have let go of Santa Monica and am now looking more to get a part time job in Oregon where we live now. That decision to let go of $7000 every 5 weeks leaving clients I’ve done for 30 years was an easy one after listening to this book. Now I can concentrate on my family we have a 6 year old and get a job to keep me busy.
