About this listen

At the heart of a missing child case, Quaid and Aslan learn the true nature of fatherhood. With their baby due any day, Quaid ends up tangled in a case on the last day of work before his parental leave begins. Between eerie ransom notes and family secrets, unanswered questions pile up, twisting the case into something Quaid has never seen. Someone is lying. Someone knows more than they’re saying.

With the help of supportive friends and colleagues, Quaid and Aslan are determined to solve the case before it’s too late. When their surrogate goes into labor, Quaid struggles to let go and walk away. A boy has vanished. A life is in danger.

Enjoyable story that is well written with likeable characters and good world building. The narration is very good as well.

Five stars because nowhere let’s you leave 50 stars
Just when Quaid & Aslan are going on paternity leave a case comes in about a missing child and Quaid can’t leave so he and Aslan team up .
Things aren’t straight forward and all leads make each of them even more confused.
Just when things heat up with the birth of their child Quaid puts the pieces together and you know what he’s going to do because that’s who he is.
I may have had a few tears listening to it and i have enjoyed every minute of this series and although i’m sad this is the final book i will definitely be revisiting Quaid and Aslan again and again.

Farewell but not goodbye.

I read half of this on my Kindle before switching when the audiobook came out, I have listened to the whole series so was happy to have Nick Russo take me to the finish line. Brilliant through out.

Lovely ending to a great series, expertly narrated

Loved! The narration by Nick J. Russo once again brought to life these wonderful characters we’ve come to love throughout this series. I absolutely loved our latest journey with Quaid and Aslan. This one started with an unexpected bang, ahem, and rolled right into a case presenting itself as Quaid and as heading into his final minutes before paternity leave. This was a case that kept me on my toes. From there we are treated to their relationship evolving even more into even more wonderfulness that could only be Quaid and Aslan. They faced new challenges becoming parents, navigating new steps and changes in their life. There were so many beautiful moments between them, it really gave me all the feels in a way only Nicky James is able to write. I love the way the obstacles were handled and with such mindfulness to their growing family. As always, we are treated to excellent writing with such character depth that we feel part of their story. I loved being able to visit with all the characters we’ve met along Quaid and Asian’s love story and journey to parenthood, and to see them become their best versions we knew were under the surface. While I am sad this is our last installment of their series, their happily ever after is one that I won’t forget!

Excellent end to a Wonderful Series!

Story: Valor and Doyle as parents was just what my soul needed. Nicky James created an amazing pair of MCs that I can't get enough of! It's a great skill to create genuine, lovable characters you can relate to, even if there's near nothing similar in their lives and yours.
Narration: Brilliant as always! There is no Valor and Doyle without their audiobook voices for me anymore.

Never enough of Valor and Doyle
