"No such thing as bad weather..."

A simple advert in the local paper requesting the return of luggage accidentally mixed up at the airport 5 days before grows from a curiosity to murder mystery with a time limit or someone else will die. The Dev and Partho partnership is similar to that of an Indian Watson and Holmes, both strong and interesting characters, the story being told by Dev. The mystery itself is also worthy of a Sherlock tale, being convoluted and intriguing. It was also quite amusing, and rates four stars.
Unfortunately, this reader personally found the audio hard to enjoy. The narratkr, Joseph G.Deak, had a pleasant voice which he uses well in the telling of the story. But there are various protagonists, each individually voiced, with crazy accents which were both disconcerting and not as easy to understand. Additiona?ly, his extended drawl was too drawn out and slow, possible suitable for Dev but irksome to hear for any length of time. Speaking up the playback speed to 1.25 did help. The intermittent sound effects were fun, though, with creeping doors, ringing bells and knocking, or even music adding a further layer to the listening experience.

My thanks to the rights holder of Partho, who, at my request freely gifted me with a complimentary copy via Audiobook Boom. It was a fun book in characters and mystery story; but despite the good attempts of the narrator, it's probably one best read in print form.
