Story
Sandra had been a merchant traveling through the human lands of Muriel, though that wouldn’t have been her chosen profession. What she would’ve loved to become was a crafter, producing wondrous creations with her own two hands. Unfortunately, Sandra was born with a deformity in her hands that made them appear frozen in a claw-like pose; as a result, she couldn’t grip anything with any sort of strength or dexterity, meaning that she wasn’t able craft anything but the most simple of things that required very little in the way of hand-based manipulation.

Thrust into an unknown, unwanted situation, most would feel panic, fear anger, and fall into chaos. Erik and Rugrat are not immune to those feelings, but they have stepped into chaos so many times, it is simply a different challenge. Two weeks ago, Erik lost his legs and his arm. Today he got a message. "You have been randomly selected to join the Ten Realms. One may choose to ascend the Ten Realms, thereupon making a request to the Gods of the Realms. Only those who are Level 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, and 90 may ascend to the next realm. Fortune favors the strong!”

Even after pre-ordering the pod that would allow them to play "Glendaria Awakens", Krista and Devin still had to wait months before they were able to experience the newest in VRMMORPG (virtual reality massively multiplayer online role-playing game) technology. The wait was definitely worth it as they entered into a game world that was virtually indistinguishable from real life - apart from the obvious game elements of course. After starting in a typical starting town, they learned everything they needed to survive in this new world.

For eons, conquering dungeons has been the most efficient way to become a strong adventurer. Although not everything is as straightforward as it seems. Several questions have always plagued the minds of those who enter these mythical places of power: why are there so many monsters? Where do the amazing weaponry and heavy gold coins come from? Why does the very air fill with life-giving energies? Cal has all of the answers to these age-old questions, for a very simple reason. He is a Dungeon Heart.

Summary
Everything has a price. Pangea Online is no different.
In the aftermath of the Developer's Tournament, Esil has a new life filled with opportunity. He's the first person to test out their most innovative technology, full-immersion gameplay, in a brand-new, unexplored gameworld.
Magic and mayhem collide in ways he never thought possible, and soon, he finds himself caught in a quest that may alter the course of the game for years to come.
As Esil experiences the grandeur of full immersion and the line blurs between reality and the gameworld, the NPCs he meets feel more like friends than data. Tasked with defending a small town from dark forces, he must learn to protect its citizens from impending doom or risk losing them forever.
Soundbooth Theater has returned to the world of Pangea Online 2! Justin Thomas James and Laurie Catherine Winkel reprise their roles as Esil and Aleesia, and Jeff Hays joins the cast as Benji and Curtis. S.L. Rowland's classic LitRPG continues in audio better than ever.

a tough sell
since the first book actually finished the story this was tough to pick up...
and honestly I think it should have been it's own story...
the story is great don't get me wrong, thing is it could have been just as great with no connection to the first of the series...
so get it if you want another S.L.Rowland story, not if you just want more of book 1
as for narration, SBT delivered as always, nothing much to say there...

Pangea online 2
A very good sequel! The more things change, the more they stay the same,as in trouble our main character finds himself in. The extra effects seem over the top at times. This story seems unfinished, maybe a book 3 is in the works?Narration by Catherine Winkel,Justin Thomas and Jeff Hays was terrific! Enjoyable adventure.
I enjoyed this story, but not as much as book 1. Esil felt more invested in his role and struggles during the first book.
I felt the book ended a little abruptly too, but I hope there’s a book 3 that will pick up where this left off.
Again, great narration by the 2 storytellers, but I feel the added sound effects took a little away from the story this time, and did more to jerk me out of the moment than enhance it.
Very much worth a listen though, especially if you’ve listened to the first book!
This is my honest opinion of a free review copy.

Skip this
I was lukewarm to book 1 and this one falls right off a cliff and into the chasm of boredom. I'm 2.5 hours in and NOTHING has happened. Just some random meanderings and ramblings. The narrative is as dry as stale toast and the dialogue is downright painful. If there's any actual plot or story to it, it doesn't begin until you're at least halfway through it, and life is too precious to waste on this.

Better than the first.
I really enjoyed this book. It was definitely better than the first. The authors writing has leveled up. There were varied elements from different types of games. I loved the tower defense game in Pangea as that is a type of game I enjoy. I loved imagining myself playing that in vr. I am excited to see where this series goes next.

Really Enjoyed It!
Esil's life has completely changed since the events of the developer's tournament in the first book, He's been selected as one of the first to try a new full immersion virtual reality in a new game world. In this new world, every one of Esil's actions changes the world around him, and he becomes more and more involved in the lives of the NPCs around him.
This was another great LitRPG that went by way too quickly! I prefer stories where the MC goes between real life and the game, and Esil's story in and out of the game was interesting. I liked the new world, and the higher stakes in it, and thought the game world was fleshed out well. I'd love to visit more with the original side characters from the first book, but hopefully they'll pop back in later in the series. Altogether, a solid LitRPG that kept me listening.
Like the first book, the voice for Esil fit well, and there was a separate female narrator for the female characters. The performance was seamless. The narration style in this book was a bit different, with sound effects included in the background. I requested a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.

Great gameLIT series
I'm really enjoying this series. The narrator does a great job with the different characters but can sometimes be a little flat with Esil's emotions. Overall though I really like it. It's a lot like Ready Player One.

Mediocre story that I can't quite buy into.
The Performance
The narrators did I nice job with the character voices. My only criticism is it sounded closer to a series documentary than a fantasy story.
The Story
This is almost completely separate from the first book, almost like it's a new series with some crossover characters. That being said the book was over and it didn't feel like it anything had really happened. The story kept me going but just kind of wandered around. I kept waiting for something to really hook me but it's just an average story. I don't regret listening to it. it may have been a little too slow had I been reading it. all in all it's not going to make my top 10 list but it's a solid book.

not as good as the 1st but getting there
it's nice to see the story take a turn after the first book, but it's a little bit of a slow start following the pace of the 1st in the series, it sets up the next book well but still felt a little lacking in terms of development and action for me.
