Summary

In the Pandorax System, on the death world of Pythos, an ancient secret that has laid buried for millennia has been unearthed....

Ignorant of this terror, troopers of the Catachan 183rd, stranded on Pythos and under the command of Colonel 'Death' Strike, find themselves under attack by the forces of Chaos. Daemons in their thousands flock the sky, and none other than Warmaster Abaddon leads the attack.

With the Death Guard and Black Legion arrayed against them, the Catachans appear to be doomed, until salvation arrives in the form of the entire Dark Angels Chapter, led by Master Azrael and a host of heroes. But what is the so-called 'Damnation Cache'? What secrets does it harbour and why has it also attracted the attention of the daemon-hunting Grey Knights?

Everyone and his dog

I enjoyed this book. Non stop action but with good humour.

Whole chapter of dark angels with some well named characters.

Gareth Armstrong does a great job of narration. Good voices. Loved his Corpelax voice.

More like fan fiction

This black library novel reads more like fan fiction then a real story the amount of famous characters turning up and the crazy stuff they do makes it seem like it was written by a fan instead of a real author

Dark Angels Lover

A very good WH40K book, it covers both the glorious Imperial Guard, and the Adeptus Astartes. For Dark Angels fans I can honestly say, that these will enjoy this book the most. Yet, I believe most 40K fans will like the story, and find the plot twists and cliffhanging Chapter endings to their liking :) The narrating is good, and it is easy to "hang on" as the story progresses. Overall I would say it is very Worth listening to!

Fun read, but is very difficult to hear at times

The story itself is very entertaining, but the audio quality is horrifically bad! It is a strain to listen at times, and often seems at max volume that you are still only hearing things a bit clearer. The characters are very interesting, but a few are less than desirable for the way the story is told. Some of the characters points of view borderline that of copy and paste moments, while others have true depth! I personally started this story with the hopes of learning a bit more on the Dark Angels and less on enjoying the Grey Knights. Instead, I ended up loving the Grey Knights and often found myself at odds with many of the featured characters from the DA. However, there are more than a few from the DA that are able to grab your attention and hold it due to the interesting approach given to their progression. Overall, I would say that they story is well worth the read, if for nothing other than the Imperial Guard alone!! They almost carry the entire story, and at times do. If I had to give it a number rating, in my opinion it would be a 8.25/10.

can't hear it

it's so quiet you can't hear in the car, and barely when walking. you max out your volume and then at the end it booms "audible hopes you have enjoyed this program". the slaughter of your eardrums lets you know just how barely audible it is.

Grey knights !!! Woot

It was very slow at points and some of the plot lines seemed blurred story and character work was great but without a prior knowledge of those characters I can see it being a real bore
