Summary

When Noelle Cooke inherits a quaint English cottage and an art gallery from her famous Aunt Joy, she welcomes a departure from her San Diego routine. But the lure of the Cotswolds, combined with a locked cottage room and a revealing journal, entice her to stay and discover more, including a way to save the gallery from financial ruin. And that means remaining in England.

When her childhood sweetheart, Adam Spencer, begins work on a restoration project in Noelle's village, their friendship blossoms. But as her feelings for Adam deepen, she struggles with memories of what might have been and yearns for a future once thought lost.

Faced with a life-altering revelation Aunt Joy took to her grave and a wrenching choice regarding the man she loves, Noelle could lose far more than her heart.

Needed this book to restore my faith in romance books.

I really liked this book!! Hard to put down! What a pleasure to read a good romance story without all of the trash some think is necessary. First I have read by Traci Borum but will not be the last.

Superficial

The best part of this book was the setting ... Small town in english countryside. Other than that, not an unpleasant read but not one i will listen to again. Main character fairly well drawn, however the supporting cast superficial. 3 stars for nothing really objectionable.

Good Book; Some Audio Glitches

I enjoyed the story and the narration was good. Unfortunately, the audio included repeated phrases/sentences in a few places that could easily have been avoided. Perhaps these can be cleaned up???

Warning! Fake British accent ahead!

I just couldn't finish this book. The narrator's fake British accent was horrible! The story was contrived and incredibly predictable. Don't waste your time.

Too afraid for truth

Quite a book to follow, but a good read. Opinion, Everyone had secrets, No one was brave enough to share their true feelings. Lots of love went missing due to this! Sad.

Good listen on the drive to California.

I enjoyed the story. My wife and I listened while driving home to California from Texas. Several fun surprises keep it interesting.

Loved this book

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I loved this book! The story kept me wanting to read/listen to more and I hated putting the book down.

Have you listened to any of Cassandra Trullo’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not, but thought she did a wonderful job with this book. Each character had their own personality and 'voice', and I could always tell who was speaking.

Any additional comments?

This was my first book by Tracy Borum, but I will be looking for more to listen to! Hopefully, she uses the same narrator for many of her books, as I thought Cassandra Trullo did a fantastic job. I loved all the mystery in this book, and how the secrets were revealed.

Painting the Moon: Chilton Crosse, Book 1

Initially intrigued by the premise and the book was listed in the category of Romantic Mystery. The blurb was interesting. The book? Not so much. It could've been better had the author included more mystery, less juvenile romance. The narration was ok in some parts and not so great in others. I was ready for this story to end about half way through. Had potential but fizzled out early. I will not be reading Book 2.
