A great short story!
I can’t get enough of this author.
I have a short attention span so her short stories are perfect.

Surprise and creepy ending!
Wow! All I can say is wow! This is a great story. The British accent of the narrator added to the whole tale.

Modern Fairy Tale
Painkillers for Heartache is a well written present day fairytale. Andrew Clark is an excellent narrator.

A story rich in character complexity.
What did you love best about Painkillers for Heartache?
This was a fantastic listen. From the story right down to the accurate narration of the characters, which reinforced their personalities. My favourite part was the complexity of the characters; from deception to a myriad of emotions, nothing was what it seemed.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Painkillers for Heartache?
The beginning stood out for me, as you are introduced to the characters. It sets the tone and you almost question if what is happening is real.
Which character – as performed by Andrew Clark – was your favorite?
With out a doubt, Old Angus.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Don't trust anyone with sweet words and promises.
Any additional comments?
This story kept me guessing. Though, you can tell something sinister is lurking on the horizon, I couldn't exactly pin it until the end, which was great.

I don't know how she gets it all in 23 minutes!
Would you listen to Painkillers for Heartache again? Why?
Yes, but more to listenly more closely to the narrator. He couldn't have been all of those voices, could he have been!?
What other book might you compare Painkillers for Heartache to and why?
Maybe something from Stephen King: deceitfully safe and pleasant until the horror kicks in.
What does Andrew Clark bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
So I'm not even sure if that was just one guy there, but if that was really only his voice, then he's a pro at voice imitations. I thought there were at least three voices in there.
Who was the most memorable character of Painkillers for Heartache and why?
Old Angus mostly because he sounded the scariest.
Any additional comments?
I don't know if this is "allowed" from a narrator, but because he (or THEY!) did such a good job of the different characters' voices, I didn't need the "Jennifer said" lines in there because it was clear that it was Jennifer speaking. Sometimes it was a little jarring to hear Jennifer's voice and then the "narrator's" voice come in to say "Jennifer said."
But if it's really just that one guy? He's great.

Odd story
I thought this was a rather odd story, and only 3 chapters long. I do not think it is actual worth the money
