Informative and Helpful

I've been diagnosed with PCOS for a while, and I get into moods where I research more about it and how the symptoms impact me in others ways along with fertility. This book does offer a lot of information and granted, there are a few instances where words are pronounced in a way that was jarring, but it did not take away from the experience. There is a nice focus on the actuality of PCOS, not just a 'here is how you lose weight' which a lot of resources do seem to be. I do think this is a good place for someone to search for answers to their problems with this diagnosis.

In the top two books I've read on this subject

I've read numerous books on this subject, female health, hormones and diet. Sadly many are unqualified cranks, lots of cherry picked data, unscientific advice and plenty of via and anecdotes. This book is in my top three.
It is very professionally written and read.
There is lots of new information not the usual same things repeated over and over.
The way the research is presented is balanced and professional. This is one of two books that I have read on this subject that I went on to buy the rest of their books. This and the hormone reset diet.
Both have been invaluable to me and my journey through hormone issues, to improving my health. It's not an exaggeration to say that they changed my life, I have managed to reverse my pcos symptoms long term.
The narrator speaks very soothingly.

Save your credit

Patronising, extremely patronising. Seemed to be a self help book for emotions and how people with PCOS are beautiful and worthwhile!? I mean who said they weren’t?

Lots of story telling - so & so is hairy so she grew a beard. Honestly I scoffed at so much of this book.

& lots of quoting other people and quoting the obvious.

I was very disappointed & wished I had not bothered.
