Summary

The fear of abandonment typically results in a person unintentionally engaging in behaviors that push other people away, thus leading to their worst fear... that of being abandoned. Then being abandoned causes the person to fear abandonment even more in the future. Therein lies the problem of this type of fear being a self-perpetuating downward spiral that can only get worse and worse - unless you decide to do something about it.

This book is a no frills affair. It's 28 minutes so it doesn't waste the first hour telling you the credentials of the author.

It lists what you need to do. This is helpful. It makes it all seem quite simple. However the items on your to do list will be quite significant.
example (from memory): Get in touch with your beliefs and change them....

I do think the book is helpful but the answer isn't simple for me.

Excellent

Great narration. Well written and easy to understand. This short book encapsulates the understanding of the subject in a succinct and orderly way, giving tools to use in everyday life. I found it very empowering and helpful, thank you very much.

1st step to moving forward

I enjoyed this audible and never really considered how much abandonment can play such a role on one's self esteem and future relationships. It can cause one to essentially self sabotage future relationships. I found the chapters enlightening as well as refreshing as I continue to move forward in the right direction towards healing.

Understanding myself fears.

I never understood why I did the things I do until listening to this book. It breaks it down in simple ways that it connects it to every negative action I’ve committed and then connects to my past. I struggle with relationships and this seems to have explained my subconscious actions. This is a good starting point of understanding.
