Just four words were printed in the card. He doesn’t love you. I’ve been dreaming about this day - marrying Adam, my childhood sweetheart, who I’ve loved for 18 years. I didn’t realize the perfect day would turn into the perfect nightmare. I was so excited to send out the wedding invitations, carefully writing everyone’s names on thick cream paper in beautiful cursive script. I had no idea I was inviting someone to destroy our marriage.

Wonderful!
As you start listening to the book you think its quite predictable....but its not! It becomes something more. A real saga that you don't expect. I wont be surprised it they make turn it into a TV mini-series (if they haven't already). Definitely recommended and well worth 1 credit.

Brilliant but harrowing! Not for the faint hearted!
I picked this book on a whim and when I realised the main theme I nearly sent it back, but I stuck with it and so glad I did. The story was full of twists and turns and could almost be described as a modern fairytale for adults, full of warnings and foreboding. I really felt empathy for the main character who made me laugh and cry in equal measure, Brilliantly written, I would strongly recommend.

Took a good story too far .
It was a great book for three quarters of it, then became far fetched. While well written it dragged in places and became a struggle to finish. The narrator did a good job though her natural Yorkshire accent shone through every character.

Started off good....
But then got so repetitive and l cant believe the author used the word 'uncoupling' TWICE. The narrator had absolutely no emotion, at times the main character is fighting for her life but it sounds like she is simply reading out her horoscope.

chilling and suspenseful with excellent presentation
I am becoming a big fan of Patricia Dixon having now read a few of her books but this one was my favourite yet. The storey of Freya and her abusive relationship was shocking, chilling and suspenseful and I couldn’t put it down. When the story starts you think you know where it is going but it builds and builds to a shocking finale. I can’t recommend this enough! The audio performance is also excellent with the portrayal of Freya believable and realistic to how I imagined the character.

Wow!!!!@
Having lived through an abusive relationship then stalking, I could identify. The way this was written like a memoir made the story more real for me.
Yes, it's fiction but so many stories like it. And I'm fully expecting some cruel reviewers who live blaming the victim for not leaving.
There's many reasons victims don't leave, in my case he would have killed me. After a year of planning I made it out only to be be stalked and threatened until I was able to have it stopped.
This story is much like this and I only tell my story in this review because I know how victims are blamed abd thought of as weak. Until you've been there..
Anyway, the book was wonderfully written, terrifying and written in a " warning" style.
I found it riveting. I could think of nothing else even for quite some time after I finished it.
Really excellent, 5 stars for being creative but realistic, entertaining but educational, and engrossing in the extreme. Highly recommended!

Fantastic Book
Over My Shoulder is one of the most action-packed mystery/thrillers I’ve read in a long time. The major character is so likable and the book so well written that the reader is deeply involved, rooting for her in her dangerous situations. The descriptions allow the reader to “see” the book like a movie. If you cannot tolerate some sexual violence features, skip it. Other mystery suspense readers will enjoy the plot.

Leave already!!
This is probably the most frustrating book I’ve ever listened to. Although I wanted to complete it to find out the end result, so many times I felt like I couldn’t take the character any longer — I don’t know if it’s good or bad that I wanted to shake her!! At any rate, I finally finished the book. Usually when I reach the end of a book that I have enjoyed, I hate that it’s ending. Not with this one. I was trying so hard just to get through it and was so thankful when it was finally over. Still trying to decide if I want to return it or not ... the narrator was excellent however.
