Summary

I won’t hesitate to get my hands bloody for her.

I saw the pain in Elizabeth’s eyes when I rescued her from an attacker. Quiet, mousy, and beautiful. The girl is cloaked under the invisibility of dirt and stigma. She keeps to herself in the community of homeless people. But I will not let her painful past haunt her anymore. Her scars tell a story that makes my blood boil. I see her. I want her. I thought Black Angels was my only obsession until I met her. The club was formed after my brother’s tragic death. It transformed my life. It gave me the power and reach I need to save Elizabeth. And I will not stop at anything until she’s safe in my arms. I need to mark her as mine. Forever.

Abused and Used Beyond Belief

I received a free audiobook for a voluntary and honest review.
The H and h are both extreme people. Elizabeth is young homeless and struggling to live..running from what or who she is alone and doesn’t trust anyone. Her story is slowly revealed
Carson is a MC member who deals in drugs and has and will kill to protect his MC and eventually Elizabeth
There is a horrible past that Elizabeth is running from and Carson through his kindness starts her healing process. Carson isn’t the perfect hero, but you forgive the negative because of how he treats Elizabeth...mostly. There are few things he does that are hard to get around
Good ration and this certainly grabs your attention!

Very physical, kinda sad

Pupils blowing, throat clearing, lip sucking, breath holding, nostrils flaring...pupils blowing again. I noticed this book was low on environmental descriptions and characterization, which was a bummer because there were some characters that seemed funny and interesting but you never really get to know anybody too well in this book. It’s very high on body awareness instead—nostrils flaring is an overused phrase for the author. Every female character is written to be not that great of a person, even the ladies with jobs on the right side of the law are evil. The women featured most prominently are one red herring/sorta pointless character, and the main female character, Elizabeth, who...I mean, is kinda written more like a pet than a person. But I found myself rooting for Elizabeth. I liked the ending, even though, again, out of the 3 main villains in Elizabeth's life, it's the female villain who gets it the worst in the end, which feels...well, I feel I made my point on that, I have issues with some gender dynamic stuff. On a personal level, I just can't get into a romance/erotic novel where the lead dude beats women. Like I get that abusive shit is everywhere, especially in some MC circles but I mean this is fiction, it could be left out. Anyway, yeah 3 stars means I liked it, but I had a hard time with some stuff.

🌻This was definitely different 🌻

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

This was definitely an unique MC romance. First of all, the club was made up of five guys that had been friends since they were kids. In addition to being a member of the club, one was a physician, one was a Psychiatrist, one had served in the army, one was an underground fighter and the Hero was a custom bike builder.

The Hero and Heroine were also unique. The Hero had a white knight complex and the Heroine was a homeless young woman with a horrible past of sexual and physical abuse. She was so emotionally scarred that she almost couldn’t function. The Hero met the Heroine in a parking lot and her gave her money. After that, they slowly developed an unique friendship that slowly becomes more. This relationship isn’t all that healthy but for these scarred characters, it works.

There is an investigation to find some rats, in the club, and this band of characters work together to try and solve the problem. The final solution comes as a complete surprise.

Be aware that there is violence against women, flashbacks of child abuse and some really graphic violence. This is not for the faint of heart.

Even though this was very different than my usual MC listen, I did enjoy the story.

Realistic book

This book has many many triggers but is very realistic. As a big fan of Jamie Begley this book falls right in line with the violence of an MC

this book will make you cry, laugh, and hate.

narrator did good job trying to do different voices for characters.
the heroin was portrayed with sensitivity to her abuse and homelessness.
the hero , well let's just say he is like most men, can be great but sometimes clueless. He does his best with what situations he is given. I recommend to anyone who likes MC reads; romance not withstanding ; this book shows the dirty side of motorcycle clubs that we sometimes don't get with books written by women.

Dark story

This was a very dark story. The heroine was abused as a child and never fully recovered from the abuse. The “hero” cared deeply for her and was loyal. The ending....not ideal. I do not want to give it away.

Nicely done !

This was such a good book, the characters were rough and dirty but beautifully broken and that’s what made them real. His need to protect her and her want for safety are heartbreaking and fierce. This is a good recommend
